Dwight and Vince Carter expire in different years

I think they’d be doing this trade at the deadline in Dwight’s last year, not now.

This trade might get it done. It’s basically the same thing without all the chaff.

ya basically same premise

on the main part of the trade. The other part is mostly sweetener for them…get rid of some contractual obligations and rebuild around a younger core. But ya, main part of the trade would be ellis + andris for howard….just wish we could do it….

http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=2afk4bf I wouldn’t love this trade…but seems pretty fair from all teams involved.

If New Orleans is cheap enough, they might consider this. The Magic and Warriors would both do well enough here.

No way Orlando does this.

They see themselves as title contenders. Maybe at the end of the year, they consider a sign and trade if Howard doesn’t want to re-sign with them, but that’s the only way this happens.

Question

Is VC’s contract guaranteed next year or is it a team option? I’ve seen both.

If it’s later I expect him to be gone at deadline for someone who can help them.

Hoopshype says team option. That’s how I usually see it reported.

Orlando would blow the competition away

They’ll offer Howard max money, lots of years, maybe even guarantee a job w/ the organization after retirement. Seeing Shaq leave them & win rings in LA, I’d expect them to offer Howard anything he wants.
