Keith Smart
On tonight's game:
"There's not a lot to say. We didn't get off to a good start and we had to fight back all game. We made some mental defensive lapses that cost us. We are not making smart decisions and making critical errors at the wrong time. We lost the game and now we have to move on. We kept our turnovers down but they always seemed to come at the wrong time. Our bench did a great job and got us back in the game. We need to start getting off to a better start and at some point get a lead in the game."
Dorell Wright
On his play:
"I think I played well but unfortunately we lost the game. I've got my confidence back. I'm in great shape. Once I get a few easy baskets I get the defenders flying by and it helps open up my game."
On the Rockets:
" It's really tough for them because they're playing without Yao and Brooks, two of their best players. Chuck Hayes has really stepped up big. They are a talented team and Kevin Martin can get to the free throw line whenever he wants. Luis Scola is a real problem stopping in the blocks."
Monta Ellis
On tonight's game:
"We need to be more patient and focused and more tuned in. We have to turn it around. I believe we could have stolen this game. Houston started great but we didn't have enough bullets to get the job done."
Stephen Curry
On tonight's game:
"We definitely couldn't get momentum on our side. Houston had the crowd and we weren't able to execute and they kept control of the game. I thought we were pretty aggressive by driving to the basket but they seemed to play smarter defensively. We were attacking the basket but not able to finish."
Notes
- No interesting notes to add tonight.

gameflow. That’s all for now. I’ll check back in a couple hours. Got stuff to do.
I guess I am not so upset as some people because I figured we'd land somewhere ~36 wins this year.
I didn’t watch this game, but from the box score, the foul call disparity is ridiculous.
Nice to see Curry go 6 Assists to 1 TO though.

yeah , we need to learn to play real defense instead of reaching with prayer.
Lights please, lights please, turn off the lights.

51-18 isn’t from just reaching. We get knocked around all game and nothing gets called and they get touch fouls called off the ball. Look at all the stats, it looks like we won the game.

I like what Riley had to say on the matter
The other thing about size around the basket is it helps you in regards to not having to foul so much and march those guys to the free throw line. If you look at the game tonight, they shot 51 free throws and we didn’t get to 20 (free throws) I don’t think. And people tend to look at the statistics and say, ‘Well that means the referee is cheating. Well, no. We know that tonight it was our defense. Part of that was us being small and part of that is the Kevin Martin factor. He’s just going to get to the line. He gets to the line against everybody in the league. But you shouldn’t put Luis Scola and Hayes on the line that much."

Chuck Hayes is 6'5 or 6'6 on a good day
He is a meaty guy but he’s by no means tall. To me is seemed like height was less of an issue than hustle — boxing out in particular.

the only stat that matters in the final score.

You’d think having an athletic center, who runs a good pick and roll, who for his career finished above 66% at the rim would be reason to run the pick and roll more.
You’d think would you, keith smart!?

Worst part look at assists percentage at the rim. I think it’s a clear sign of play calling (or lack of)
You’d think would you, keith smart!?
Thinking would be the smart thing to do, actually. Well, Lee and Beans complement each other inside, so let’s wait and see what happens when the bite victim comes back! Still, need MOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOR PNR!

We need to be more patient and focused and more tuned in.
Monta is a frustrating player to watch sometimes. I love the guy but if your team needs rebounding you need to get in there and do some fundamentals like box out and board. 41 minutes – 3 rebounds… and then say we need to be more focused and tuned in? I watched him on several plays just stand there and get outworked by Kyle Lowry on the defensive boards. The last two games have been un-Monta like – he’s watching too much.
On a side note it must be frustrating for him to never get the body bump call but others like Martin get it every time!
John 8:44 -Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do.
It all comes back to health.
At least Curry wasnt looking like the walking dead last night. This team “if” completely healthy could have a 40 + season…..but, it isnt looking like that kind of year. Lee will take some time to condition in once healthy as will Admunson and we really needed a Udoh sized guy with some hops. He may not show much of anything untill mid to late Feb. if anything we could use his body on defense. Brandan o Brandan where art thou?
The Warriors curse continues but at least we know that we have a team and a coach this year rather than bits and pieces and potential. Perhaps better said that we have “team” and coach with potential rather than just bits and pieces with potential!

Monta doesn't draw fouls well because he's one of the best at avoiding contact so he can make shots.
