Postgame Quotes and Stuff from warriors.com recap
On tonight's game:
"Physically we know how to play the game. But the game now is all mental for us. We have to make smart plays. We had a lot of really bad plays at the end of the quarter and throughout the course of the game. We had the numbers to score but we just made the wrong decisions at the time. With a young group we still have to grow them into becoming pros and hopefully, at some point, that will all sink in and we will not make the same mistakes."
On the last shot attempt by Golden State:
"We had our two best guys right there off a good defensive play to make a play to go into overtime and see what happened from there. He (Dorell Wright) had a good look."
On the chance to win it:
"Without a question, I thought we were right there. We came back in this game three times. We had to claw our way back in the game to make it a game three times. With the effort they are giving, they are playing extremely hard all the way through the game so you can’t fault their effort."
On the difference from tonight’s game and the match-up on Nov. 3:
"Zach Randolph played, so he caused problems because you have to double-team him and if you double team him he has to move out of the double team. They made some shots tonight out of the double-team rotation so they get the rebounds and they get some second-chance opportunities. So I think that is one of the biggest things there. Plus (O.J.) Mayo played great. When you have guys that you can’t guard one-on-one you have to change your game plan. You are going to foul your big guys out, you have to come double, and you just hope that these guys don’t make the shots that they have to to beat you with."
On the playing without David Lee:
"You take advantage. You take Zach Randolph off this team for a long period of time and that is kind of how Lee is for us."
(yesterday after practice)
Adrien4: Tornado Warning in Memphis and we still had practice. Now that's dedication. The hard work will pay off. Stay tune.
(after the game)
gswscribe: Smart said he doesn't regret leaving Curry/Ellis/Biedrins out so long. Curry foul trouble & he wanted Ellis/Biedrins fresh down stretch.
gswscribe: All three players + Wright expressed support in Smart's decision
- David Lee will meet the team in Minnesota and will be a game time decision.
- No time to feel down. We head over to Minnesota tomorrow and play them tomorrow night to complete the road trip.
