Postgame Quotes and Stuff from warriors.com recap
On David Lee's Return:
"of course it's obvious with Dave Lee coming back into the fold that he's a big facilitator. I said he does things more for our team than just his points and rebounds. He communicates both sides of the ball and he moves the ball in a way when the ball stops in one place."
On Monta Ellis' Defense:
"I ask him to lead us in scoring, be aggressive, be a team leader and also guard the team's best player, and he's been able to do that. My hat just goes off to him with our team because he's set the tone on both sides, and when he does that we're going to be very tough to beat. When the rest of our team is together, we'll be a tough team to beat, when we keep shooting the ball the way we did tonight."
On Dorell Wright's Performance:
"The way he played on this trip has been pretty good. Unfortunately we haven't gotten the wins that we needed, but I thought he played well in Houston, played well last night -- missed a shot, but came back again and his shots went in for him tonight. I didn't hink he was going to have a whole lot tonight based on our meeting this morning, he's kind of banged up and played a lot of minutes last night, but nevertheless I took him out a little bit into the fourth quarter and he's was like "Me, Coach?", I said "You played the whole third quarter, what else do you want?" I told him "I'm going to get you back in," and I think that really helped him because he was able to rest a little bit between the timeout and the dead balls to get his legs back again."
On His Performance:
"These guys were just finding me. Monta (Ellis), Steph (Curry) and D-Lee, they (attract) so much attention that when they kick the ball out to me, I'm wide open. I'm just stepping in and taking rhythm shots."
On What He Thought His Role Would Be On The Team:
"I looked at the roster and the one thing I did see was that there wasn't a three man. The signing of Dave Lee made my signing easier because who doesn't want to play with a back court like this and two young guys who are still up and coming that a lot of people are still sleeping on? I thought I fit right in, being able to handle the ball a lot and get a lot of open shots and things like that. That's what made my decision to come here so easy."
On His Time With Golden State:
"It's been 10-times better than what I thought it was going to be. I'm enjoying myself. We've got a great group of guys, and we've struggled the past few games, but I think we're going to get back on track once we get everybody healthy."
On Dorell Wright:
"He's been doing that all season. We've been saying that since before training camp started, through training camp that we know he's a great shooter, a great player. We just need to continue to get the ball to him. We had faith in him to knock it down and he had the faith in himself to knock it down. We're just playing team ball."
"It was a great win. We needed to get this win, and if he didn't shoot the ball the way he did, we probably wouldn't have won the game the way we won. We needed it tonight, and hopefully it can continue to carry over to the next few games."
On Dorell Wright:
"I thought that I got Dorell (Wright) a couple of early threes, open ones, and once you find your rhythm early as a shooter, it makes things a lot easier. He found his rhythm and had a great game."
On Being A Team Leader:
"It was fun in New York to be a 20/10 guy and be an All-Star, and who knows if I'll have that chance this year again, I've been injured and coming back. Right now, I know that if I play the way I'm capable of playing and I'm a leader, this team can make the playoffs this year and get some more wins. First of all, I know we can get some wins and we can beat some teams. That's my goal right now. I told you I want to be judged on wins and losses, and so far that's going pretty well when I'm in there. I just need to find a way to stay healthy and keep helping our team."
