Until MJ isn't running the BETcats
They will be a joke. MJ is one horrible basketball evaluator/manager. I don’t even understand why anyone would trade the best player on their team who happens to have a good contract and is in the prime of his career for 2 old players with big contracts. It doesn’t help you financially, and it makes you a worse team. Oh well, not our problem.

not at all
mj has been average. larry brown is the person to blame. mj wanted to draft brook lopez two years ago, and brown went over his head and picked augistin. since then…. i dont really have to go any farther.
mj also took jrich from us. traded for jackson. and done a ton of moves that put the bobcats in the playoffs last season
Steph + Monta for Prez
That would be a nice team right there:
C- Brook Lopez
PF- Boris Diaw?/ Tyrus Thomas
SF- Gerald Wallace
SG- Stephen Jackson
PG- Raymond Felton?
wtf?
You serious? I’d take him over Andris and more than half the centers in the league in a heartbeat.

Well i guess defense, rebounding, and scoring efficiency don't matter.

Seems to me like he would rebound and score efficiently enough if you lower the amount you use him. Both categories were good his rookie year, but have dropped while his usage has gone up since then.

So if you kept him at his rookie year usage he’s a 57% TS% on 15.4 points per 36, 9.6 boards per 36, and 2.2 blocks? That’s good, but it’s not a franchise cornerstone and it’s certainly not better than Biedrins in his best years.
by GovernorStephCurry on Dec 23, 2010 8:51 PM PST up reply actions
He was able to score at reasonably good efficiency
and high volume last season. He has never been much of a rebounder, and this year he’s just been garbage.

any center that averages 20 ppg is doing something right
but ur right, for a 7 footer his rebounding and block numbers are low.
….but he’s only 21. and thats one hell of a good start for a rookie. and nothing says he can’t get better.
and lopez would be the best center the bobcats have ever had. so no, he’s not garbage. wish the dubs had him right now

Not if his TS% is well below .500.

Yeah, I really don't get this either
why would the bobcats do this?
Miller is ok I guess and camby is always welcome on any team (especially in limited minutes)
But I just don’t see why the bobcats are giving up Wallace for those two
flying dunk for a 6'10, back flip, THEN THE NAP GESTURE!
impressive

But it's mainly that, you have to go one way or the other.
If you are doing this for salary purposes then dump salary, or if you want to improve the team improve the team. This adds salary and i’m not even sure it helps their team.
by GovernorStephCurry on Dec 24, 2010 1:58 AM PST up reply actions
they need a pg
and miller is always gold. yes, he’s a bit on the older side, but why not. if they trade for him, they’ll have a team of aged veterans that might be able to spark something
but probably not
Steph + Monta for Prez
i really hope this doesnt happen
for our sake. seeing wallace in a dubs uni would be a godsend. if we could get him for expirings and somehow slide him in a lineup with lee, curry, and ellis we’d be fierce. but it doesnt look like charlotte wants expiring contracts because they seem to be actively pursing baron and miller as well.
Steph + Monta for Prez
there is no way we could get him without giving up one of our top 4 players (lee, curry, ellis, andris)

I'd trade Andris for him in a heartbeat
Use a leftover expiring to get a half decent center

And who do you suppose this “half-decent center” should be? Forget that… why would we even want to trade our expiring contracts for only a half-decent player in the first place?
Pryzbilla maybe?
And who do you think we can get for expirings?

The same Przybilla who’s 31 and just had two knee surgeries within a span of months? No thank you. He had produced reasonably well before his injury, but he’s more likely to be damaged goods from here on out. If we were talking about a few years ago when Przybilla was anchoring the Blazers’ frontcourt by himself, that’d be a different story. But then again, the Vanilla Gorilla of the past wasn’t just a “half-decent” player so that’s out of the question.
As for our expirings, we’re not going to net anyone of value with just those contracts. The whole purpose of keeping them around was to potentially package them with one of our guys (preferably one of our wings) for a legitimate upgrade in the position we’re trading out. If we’re trading away Andris, I expect a legitimate upgrade at center, not just some stopgap with a “half-decent” player just to fill a glaring void.
He has a 7 mil expiring contract
We won’t get an upgrade at center right away in a trade using expirings, lower your expectations

real
+ 1
i really think andris’ time in GS is running out. he’s had more than ample time to turn into what we asked of him…. and he kind of got there. but not even close. package him up before he gets to old and lackluster
Steph + Monta for Prez
LOL GSoM fans make him out to be an all star center
who is irreplaceable. Id trade his soft ass and that $9 mill contract in a heartbeat as well.
If we can somehow package him and someone else for wallace and maybe diop or Nazr then Im all for it. It would make us a better team defensively and clear up cap space since Crash has 2 yrs left compared to gooses 4
Do you read the same GSOM that I do? Most people who like him think he’s a valuable center. No one has ever said all star. Most people seem to dislike him these days. So what you said
LOL GSoM fans make him out to be an all star center who is irreplaceable.
is a total fabrication

Why not just Vlad for Wallace?
Vlad is dominant when given 1.3 seconds
