Around SBN: Why Hockey Fans Should Root For Devils Vs. Kings

What's With All the Andray Blatche Proposals?

  1. We don't need him.
  2. He's inefficient and inconsistent.
  3. He's a head case to deal with.
  4. He's pretty much this generation's version of Al Harrington.
  5. Stop with the suggestions!

He's better than you make him sound and he's relatively cheap but I agree that he doesn't fit on this team.

Basically no power forwards who get paid starter level money do. This is based on the simple fact that our highest paid player is a power forward named David “Big HuSTLe” Lee.

My expectations are low at this point.
... Well, that's helpful.

If he knew his limitations and didn't force alot of things on the court...

He would be a great sixth man and with improved ball handling maybe even a point forward. But I just don’t think his type of mentality is needed. He needs to go to a team that can put him in his place like BOS did with Nate last season.

It's not even fair to compare Al to him

Al is a much more efficient scorer and much better defender and looked like the coolest cartoons ever

BTW, did you ever hear what Nellie said about him. “He was the one player I thought I could help turn into a star, who didn’t”

I “LOL’d” when I read that part. And okay maybe I did insult Harrington but you catch my drift on the career idea.

I get it, Wasted Potential

Both had the tools and potential to be better. For what it’s worth, I still think Al is a valuable player, more as a 6th man, still not rebounding particularly well but it’s ok when your SF is grabbing 8.5 a game.

Yeah...

Blatche is a guy that would rather get the stats to appear like a star (Like Al Harrington with the Hawks) rather than play within the team’s offense in order to prosper.

god no.

i don’t want a player that has to BEG another player to give him a rebound, just so he can get a triple double. gross.

I’d much rather have Vlad, since his contract expires after this year.

Nice game tonight by Blatche, btw. -25 plus-minus in a game his team lost by 11? Compare Blatche’s numbers to JaVale McGee’s and you’ll see the difference between an interesting young big and a very uninteresting one.

There will be no extra point!

by Sleepy Freud on Jan 1, 2011 9:07 PM PST up reply actions

Maybe Blatche

but he could still be worse than 400 other players and be better than Vlad.

It's biodigital jazz, man.

No blatch but yes on McGee

Blatch is garbage, but I promise you McGee will be a terrific big man. Replace biedrins with McGee, he’s just as tall and has 15 lbs on biedrins. Rebounds are similar and McGee averages 5 more PPG than biedrins. Plug him into warriors system and I guarantee you will flourish!

laughed when I saw this...I know it's only a few games but...
After a productive first 21 games, Andray Blatche has strung together a recent run that has included 4-of-12, 4-of-16 and 3-for-14 efforts.

Gratitude is not only the greatest of virtues, but the parent of all others.
