Some trade craziness (aka how can we get Kevin Love?)

This article from a recent fanpost got me wasting an entire morning on hypothetical trades. It also got me to finally create an account after a year of reading this forum (which is great btw). I've compiled a handful of trades between Denver, Minnesota, and GSW for you guys to peruse and shoot down. I tried my best to dump my homerism and look for the best possible scenarios. Obviously the chances of any of this happening are slim to none, but hey, we can always dream right?

---------------------------- Trade #1 ----------------------------
http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=2flyfps
Warriors:
Kevin Love
Corey Brewer
Wesley Johnson
Chauncey Billups

Nuggets:
Monta Ellis
Andris Biedrins
Brandan Wright
Martell Webster

Timberwolves:
Carmelo Anthony
JR Smith
Reggie Williams

---------------------------- Trade #2 ----------------------------

Warriors:
Kevin Love
Corey Brewer

Nuggets:
Monta Ellis
Brandan Wright

Timberwolves:
Carmelo Anthony

---------------------------- Trade #3 ----------------------------

Same as above, but Jonny Flynn instead of Corey Brewer

---------------------------- Trade #4 ----------------------------
http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=29p5etn
Warriors:
Corey Brewer
Kevin Love
Chauncey Billups

Nuggets:
Monta Ellis (although putting Biedrins here would also work as far as salaries)
Brandan Wright
Vladimir Radmanovic

Timberwolves:
Carmelo Anthony

------------- Trade #5: Mega blow up all teams trade -------------
http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=2dzepkf
Warriors:
Kevin Love
Martell Webster
Corey Brewer
Chauncey Billups

Nuggets:
Monta Ellis
Brandan Wright
Wesley Johnson

Timberwolves:
Andris Biedrins
Carmelo Anthony
Reggie Williams
------------------------------------------------------------------

In all trade scenarios, I tried to make the trade as appealing as possible to each team.

For instance, in the last mega blowup trade (#5)
1. Denver is only going to trade Carmelo for a promising future, which means Monta and Wes Johnson, and Chauncey may be expendable to them if they decide to rebuild. There's another scenario involving JR Smith, whom the Nuggets want to get rid of, but it won't work here.

2. Minnesota won't part with Love for anything less than a superstar (Melo). Biedrins will soften the blow and replace Love on the depth chart, and Reggie is added there because Minny would be losing both their small forwards. Although if I were them, I'd take the upgrade to Melo/Williams any day.

3. Here's the fun part. We'd get Love down low for a bigger presence and better outlet passing to fuel the break. Chauncey would be a great, smart PG mentor that Steph can learn from; Billups can get to the line, play D, control the tempo, and most importantly, he won't make those stupid one hand passes that Steph loves for some reason. Webster and Brewer can be considered solid bench contributors and if I remember correctly, have proven they can play defense.

According to this article the Wolves are looking to dump Brewer for a scorer (Melo+Reggie would do the trick). I don't think they are likely to trade Love, but if Minnesota keeps stinking, I'm guessing they'd do anything to mix it up. Plus, Beasley can slide to the 4 with Melo at 3 and Biedrins at 5, which won't be a huge rebounding loss for the WOlves. I'm not sure what style these guys play, but this last trade would most likely shift them to a faster pace. Hell, Reggie could even start at SG and they'd have a pretty big and fast team.

We'd all jump at a proven veteran PG to control the floor and, but why the Kevin Love love? I know he's not the most athletic, but he's a good passer to start the break, is a monster on the boards, and can stretch the floor with his shooting to give room for Steph and Billups to get to the hole (and the line). Plus, his presence inside will keep us from all those reach in ticky tack fouls we've been called for. So, our needs for defense, foul discrepancy, and responsibilities by position would be more solidified. I don't care what you say, having 5 separate positions with clearly identifiable roles is much better than a pair of small 1/2 combo guards and 3 semi-forwards who don't know what position they're playing on any given night. Plus, having Love and Lee in the same front court would do wonders for our half court FLEX offense because these guys are actually threats to pass and shoot outside of the paint.

Next steps: Waive Charlie Bell for roster space and see if we can use expirings to lock in a 6th man scorer to replace Reggie. Oh, and send Lin to the D-League until he can be a serviceable 3rd string PG. We'll have to decide what to do with Amundson, Gadzuric, Udoh, or Adrien too.

PS - I actually don't know much about the logistics of an NBA trade, exceptions, etc. so please give me feedback if any of this is feasible...such as a ridiculous 10 player, 3-team trade...
