Andre Miller anyone?
He has one year left. Good PG now, EXCELLENT mentor to Curry who seems lost at PG in the new system and his summer off the ball.

How do we get him though?
BW and Vlad?

Yeah, the problem with DLee trade
We emptied a lot of our best assets.
Damn
Exactly what I was thinking when I read that article. Miller would be the one to pick up.
They wouldn't do it (trading andre miller)
But camby for beans.. Two things would need to happen, udoh would need to contribute significantly and we would need to get some sort of pick.
Why do we get a pick?
He’s got 2 years left and I don’t think Beabs would attract a player and a pick

just expirings + maybe BWright for camby
Keep Beans, and add Camby to the rotation.

We aren't close enough to contending for it to be worth it
Camby is fully 10 years older than Biedrins.
I'll sell this vacant lot and settle down in a place I've only read about in books about Miles Davis.

See, here we go again. Trying to rid ourselves of Beans for an older player who isn’t a meaningful upgrade. Why?
Andre Miller would be nice. Not sure we’d want to give up anything meaningful for him, though, so not sure why the Blazers would do it. Don’t think he’d be happy playing behind Curry anyways, and I’m not sure I like the idea of moving Curry off the ball while Miller is in from a long run perspective.
yeah, this is exactly the sort of short-term, no meaningful improvement trades that I was rallying against in my recent post
Blazers are too savvy to just give away resources (especially within their conference)
If Camby was way better than Beans, and a whole lot younger, then I’d consider it.
And as far as Miller, yeah, great, but he is their starting PG (unless I’m mistaken) and you aren’t going to get him for Vlad Rad. Finally, just like MB is saying above, Miller, Curry, Ellis backcourt is going to get awefully crowded. Not sure Miller would stomach coming off the bench. And I’m damn sure that we don’t want a Miller and Steph backcourt

Defense
Camby is known as a very good defender and rebounder. Thats all it’s about, I don’t care about Camby’s offense

I do think Camby is better defensively than Andris. It’s not an enormous difference, though, and Andris makes up for a lot of it with better offense. Even if Camby is better….I threw the word “meaningful” in there for a reason – it’s not a big enough difference to matter.

?
Overrating Biedrins again.
Camby is a MUCH better defender, never had foul trouble. Camby is a better passer (though both are well above average passers for Centers in the NBA). Camby is also a better rebounder (marginal)
That said I would NOT do it at all. We aren’t one player away from a title, so why get 12 years older at center? Only logic we be ridding all our big contracts (Biedrins, Monta and Lee) and going into a complete tank/rebuild. And even then it makes no sense cause Camby isn’t expiring!
The fouling things seems like Camby’s biggest advantage to me. I have seen some evidence that big men who can play good help defense without fouling are helping their team quite a bit. His defensive +/- is a bit curious. It’s solid this year but nothing special (2 points per 48 minutes better with him on the court). It was excellent on the Clippers. It was ordinary his last couple years on the Nuggets. Could be a case where his backups talent plays a big part in his numbers.
I’ve never thought of Camby as a terrific passer, do you? He seems to always be playing in a high post floating role where he just shoots jumpers or passes from the high post and doesn’t do anything else on offense. It’s fine, but I’d probably put them on par as passers. They’re both comfortable doing it in that kind of role but that aren’t Brad Miller or anything (so good, but not spectacular).
I just don’t see a huge difference there. In both cases we get a role player who’s asked to do the same thing and ends up produces pretty similar amounts. Maybe I’m underrating Camby’s defensive presence some? Then again, he is going to turn 37 later this season…

I think Camby’s a very good passer for a big. Probably slightly better than Biedrins. 3.4 assists per 36 last year to only 1.4 turnovers. Also same rate with Denver. I mean we’re not talking Webber or KG but he’s certainly not a player with blinders on.
I feel for Camby cause for Portland he was perfect signing. A 3 man rotation of LMA, Oden and Camby could hang with Lakers. He’s one of few bigs who matches up well on Gasol.
Eitherway he’s an asset to a team like Miami or OKC who need an extra big to compete with Lakers/Celtics. Not Warriors. Too bad for Miami they have no way to get him…
Yeah
Camby’s a good passer. His scoring ability is pretty shitty.

Yeah, Camby is an over the hill player. 5 years ago it might have made sense.

He's not over the hill. He's very good
But yes it makes ZERO sense considering we’re nowhere near a title and just got 12 years older at center.
He's not over the hill. He's very good
I’m very good too but still over the hill.

Over the hill implies declining
I don’t see decline. Just fear it’ll happen any day now…
I'd love Miller
Like you said not for anything meaningful, but we don’t really have much meaningful outside our starting 5.
Miller would be excellent for Curry though in a mentoring role. I really think we wiffed by not getting an exerienced back up PG. I’d even go for someone like Anthony Johnson (not special but passable).
A 3 man rotation of Miller, Curry and Monta would really boost our backcourt.
Yeah that’s the problem, it just doesn’t necessarily seem like a good fit for a trade even though we have a gaping need for things Miller is good at…

im a tad confused on the idea of picking up someone as a MENTOR..
DO great players need a mentor?? did jordan? did kobe?? does anyone?? who has suddenly risen above as a result of a “mentor” curry is an adult. albeit a baby faced one but still an adult.. he will come into his prime and his own regardless of who is mentoring him.. he is learning from his competition.. DAVID LEE is our teams mentor on how to be a quality human being

Camby is probably an upgrade
if we were making a title push, this is the trade to do. Unfortunately, we’re making a .500 push, so Biedrins has to be the guy.

I'll take anyone they're willing to give up.
They’re full of good rotation players from top to bottom.
The Lakers have a bigger chance of missing the playoffs than the Warriors have of making them.
I don't get why we didn't get Patty Mills? He's much better than freaking Acie Law, who just kinda sucks.

What has Patty Mills done since college?
seriously, I got zero clue. Is he killing it in the D League right now?
I predict JT will never breathe through his nose.
its just like i tell my son.. think about what ur doing

as far as warrirors go.. its less than ten our core group of HOPE here is 2-7 years SO if it doesnt help us then then DONT DO IT
