Postgame Quotes from warriors.com recap
Don Nelson
On tonight's game:
"We just weren’t very good. Our D-leaguers looked like D-leaguers. Our rookie (Curry) didn’t have a very good game. Monta had a very good game but he just didn’t have any help."
On Monta Ellis:
"I really didn’t know if he was going to be able to shoot the ball. I was going to play him until we either won or lost and then I took him out when the game was over."
Stephen Curry
On tonight's game:
"By the time Monta (Ellis) got going, we were already down twenty. We couldn’t find it offensively and for us to be competitive we have to be able to make plays and we didn’t. We just didn’t come ready to play."
On defending Aaron Brooks:
"He uses his speed so well. Speed kills. He is a very tough guy to stop. He got Houston rolling and we couldn’t come back."
On Monta Ellis:
"Monta stepped up to the plate when our whole offense was stagnant. He really got us going in the second quarter."
Monta Ellis
On tonight's game:
"In the second quarter we played pretty good defense and got back into the game but our offense didn’t come through in the second half. It was just a bad shooting game."
On His Play:
"It was one of those games. I was shooting and it was going in. Unfortunately, we didn’t get the win. I really didn’t know what to expect coming out, but as my wrists got loose, it felt pretty good."
My Notebook
- 3 point shooting contest players will be announced tomorrow.

Another loss, another ping pong ball!
WARRIORS BASKETBALL!!! Patiently waiting for a title...I may be waiting for a long time...
At least they might have found a steal in Karl
12, 7, and 7 is a pretty good stat line for anyone let alone a guy from the d-league.
dunno -probably for this system
but check drafexpress report
WTF FTW!

Very Sad
That COBY KARL was again the leading assist man. I didn’t watch the game (thank god), but by looking at the box score it seems to me that Monta absolutely carried the team tonight. Props to him.
Karl is legit
At least he is young and can play a bit unlike Speedy, George and Vladrad who are old and broken I’d rather see this guy play and try to become a solid role player for us in the future.

I’m just curious to see where he’ll fit when everyone’s healthy… which by the looks of it may be a few months away from NEVERUARY!!!!

Let’s not jump the gun on him yet. He’s only played in two games, but I am impressed.

i’ve got radiculitis righn now and feel like watching W’s would be double pain
WTF FTW!
Monta is an all star
Monta was the only player who showed up. People say Monta shouldn’t be an all star because of the record. FYI, this team is pathetic. Put Steve Nash on this team, and we would still be years away from the playoffs. The best thing for Monta to do is seek a trade, because he will never get the recognition he deserves.
I completely disagree with this statement. If you put Steve Nash on this team, players would get wide open shots in their desired areas constantly. Look at the Suns right now other than Amar’e. Lopez has no offense at all, but it flourishing with Nash. Dudley and Fyre have been garbage in the past but are now shooting ridiculously from deep.

Why?
So he can help Dirk choke in the playoffs again?

The Mavs are the only team the Warriors have pwnage over. So, yeah.
All this Monta hate and Monta's bad +/-
It’s just a joke that people can’t see that he gets no help from his team. Yesterday was a perfect example. The other team double/triple teamed and flooded the lane, and our other players couldn’t hit the ocean if they were trying to.
Albeit, our team normally does not shoot THAT bad…but even with great ball movement all game and Ellis not forcing it, it should be clear why Ellis’s +/- is so bad. BECAUSE HE PLAYS SO MUCH ON A BAD TEAM.
You know I spit technique to the freshest freak
Gimme a call you will see results in just a week

Is there a heaven for a Rap Cat, let's talk
Missing the point. Everyone’s +/- is bad. But based on +/-, guys like Maggette HELP the team on the scoreboard when they are in the game.
(up to 1/25) Maggette’s +/- is a bad -2.8 when he is in the game, but they are even worse when he’s out -4.5. He hasn’t played the minutes Monta has (as of 1/25, Corey’s played in 62% of the team’s minutes) , but he also never plays in garbage time where the dubs supposedly do so great.
Monta on the other hand is at -5.1 when he’s in the game. The dubs are +6.0 when he’s out – even if this +6 is a fluke caused by garbage time, that -5.1 is the worst on the team minus Mikki Moore (20%) who put up a plus-minus of -15.4 when in the game and Azubuike (11%) who is at -8.5 when in the game (Raja is the worst, but he barely played).
Monta’s clearly the best individual scorer on the team & is arguably their best offensive player, but he has not been their most efficient offensive player this season (Corey).
If anything the problem has been that Monta’s trying to do too much. If he just had a Baron type mindset of driving & kicking, he’d be a better offensive player than Baron given that he has a much easier time getting by defenders. a 40% 3 point shooter is equivalent to a 60% 2 point shooter. That’s basically how the Knicks win despite having a cruddy team – though b/c it’s inconsistent, it also leads to blow out losses and losses against teams they should beat.
Really while Curry has more of a PG mindset and Ellis that of a SG, Curry is more effective as a SG (TS% 55.6%) and Ellis would be better suited with a PG mindset b/c he can actually get by people easier.

Having been to a few rockets games
I have to admit their sound system, concessions, and on the court entertainment is wayy better than the Warriors.
I would like to give props to the RPD since they not only just wave pom poms like many dance teams, but they do bowling, have some of them dunk off trampolines, and sometimes they are thrown into the air.
The Time Is Now! Win Warriors Win!
and on the court entertainment is wayy better than the Warriors.
for sure. I’m re-arranging the furniture right now so I can have cheerleader bowling in my living room
Lights please, lights please, turn off the lights.
