Postgame Quotes from warriors.com recap
Don Nelson
On tonight's game:
"We knew that they were good and that we would have to play at a really high rate, but we didn't. We didn't play very well. It's obvious that you can struggle when you can come back from an injury. I think that Monta's shot wasn't quite right. Curry had another rookie night with 10 turnovers and that kind of surprised me. We went from one of our best efforts to one of our worst, and I think that Utah had quite a bit to do with that. Deron Williams is not only their [best] offensive player, but he's also a fine defender. He really bothered our rookie point guard, which is understandable. So, we'll lick our wounds, go to practice tomorrow, and then we'll play Sunday."
On what Utah did offensively:
"They ran their offense like a textbook. I think that they put the extra shooter on the floor when our game plan was to clog the paint and be active with our hands on steals. That opened up that 16-17 footer and they made every one of them. That took us out of our game plan and we weren't very good at adjusting,"
C.J. Watson
On tonight's game:
"Coming off a big game like we did, and then coming out here and having a disappointing loss like this pretty much hurts, especially at home in front of your fans, so we just have to pick it up and get another win Sunday."
On Monta Ellis:
"He was pretty healthy, we just couldn't make any shots tonight and the ball just didn't fall right."
On Utah's defense:
"We turned the ball over a lot, they played pretty good defense. They were contesting every shot, running us off the three point, and we just couldn't make any shots inside the paint."
Anthony Morrow
On tonight's game:
"I just think we were a little flat. We just need to have a little more energy going down the stretch in the second quarter. But overall I just think we need to come back and regroup tomorrow in practice and get ready for Atlanta on Sunday"
On the Late Comeback:
"We kept fighting. All the guys were really playing hard in the 4th quarter and they really brought us back so I take my hat of to them. We were never going to stop playing hard, those guys did a good job."
On Monta Ellis:
"Teams are going to game plan against him. He's just getting his legs back, his first game back, so we know when he gets back right we're going to come out here and just play around him and let him do his thing like we always do.

What an awful game. The turnovers were horrendous. I didn’t know Curry turned it over 10 times! That is ridiculous. I figured Deron Williams could mess him up, but I didn’t expect that. On the bright side, CJ played well as did Chris Hunter. Ellis was awful tonight. I expect that to turn around, unless he’s angry that we didn’t make a trade. I wonder if the team morale is low due to that. Terrible game, regardless. Sickening to watch.
Welcome to the Pit of Despair! Don't even think about trying to escape.
You know it was garbage if orangino's highlights don't even top ONE minute!
Love Warriors, Hate Cohan! - Sell the team! Save us Mr. Ellison!
trade..
ellis and maggette, the black holes. wont the warriors coaching be smart and play curry as the one and monta as the 2 cause they wont go anywhere doing this combo back court play. when the game runs through curry its pretty. shoulda done that memphis trade. mayos smooth.
Mayo can't play off the ball like Monta can
When you give the ball to a scorer, they will try to score. That’s just natural and they only become a black hole if you let them. And Nellie is
Rookie: "Why did you bench me?"
Nellie: "You're a rookie"
when the game runs through curry its pretty.
Not tonight, it wasn’t. I’m not gonna golf-clap a guy for getting Anthony Tolliver a lot of looks from eighteen feet if he commits ten turnovers in the process.
It’s tempting to think that some tweak will make this team good, and some tweaks would indeed be worthwhile… I’ll put money into a “Fire Nellie” fund right now, and I’m not against trading Monta in the right deal. But the Warriors’ problems are not nearly as simple as “Curry = good, Monta = bad.” The depressing truth is that neither guy is currently capable of leading the Warriors to victory over a half-decent team. It’s not like one’s holding the other back from greatness… as things stand, they’re just not that great.

They are only pieces of a puzzle that’s missing some necessary parts.

Also, not that it matters, but only two of the 38 people who’ve voted selected Biedrins as the guy whose play they liked? Feh. It’s not his fault our coach can’t tell effective big-man play from a hole in the ground.

This would be the same coach who made plays to make him look so good with BD?
Your logic in this statement has more holes in it than swiss cheese.

Yeah, the same coach who doesn’t realize we don’t have a Boom quality point guard anymore and so we can’t play like we did then? The same coach who’ll eventually get his few needed wins and limp off into the sunset?

We don’t really play the same style we used to play when BD was running the show. There aren’t nearly as many pick and rolls or transition 3s as there used to be.

We still don’t have a big that can post up and control the game.
