If the Warriors don't get the first or second pick

Barring that it is the Warriors and the luck we've had, we would most likely get the number 3 through 5 pick, unless of course David Stern has pity on the Warriors and gives us a break. This is what I would do if I was GM.

I would trade the pick to Memphis for Rudy Gay and O.J. Mayo for Ellis and Maggette +Expirings if needed. They can throw in Thabeet if they wanted to, but Rudy and O.J. would be the priority.

Remember I'd do this only if we don't get the first or second pick which would be Wall and Turner. After those two, the draft seems kind of pointless to the Warriors. We are filled with young guns who can match with anyone in the draft after Wall and Turner.

Why would Memphis basically do this trade? Well it goes down to what happened in the trade deadline. Larry Riley is smarter than we think. If that trade would've happened, we'd lose Monta for Mayo who is good but not as good as Monta YET... And if they truly offered Thabeet, then they must've wanted Monta that bad. Plus everyone in the League knows Rudy wants out, why try to keep him if he's going to leave the second he gets a chance.

Why Golden State would make this trade? Simple, they want to get rid of the Magette contract. Not only that but somewhere deep inside of me they know Curry will take over which will leave Monta out of the box. As much as I have hopes for a Curry and Monta backcourt they just don't seem to play good off of each other. Remember, Monta did not score for 6 minutes in the fourth quarter while Curry lit it up yesterday against the Nuggets. With them both in the court, only one can score in bunches. And I hardly doubt Monta would be willing to stay as Warriors for his entire career after everything that happened so far.

Most importantly, would Rudy Gay even sign with the Warriors or agree to an Extension. The answer is YES, why wouldn't he? Warriors would have enough money to sign him to a contract he'd like. Also everyone seems to be worried about the lockout coming in 2011 which would make any player want to sign before the salary changes. Plus, 17,000 loyal fans compared to whatever amount Memphis gets without having to play alongside Kobe or Lebron, he knows he'll be an instant star and most likely be the missing piece for a franchise that went to the playoffs once in 15 years.

Just think of the starting lineup

Curry, Mayo, Gay, Randolph, Biedrins.

It'll be We Believe 2.0 but more younger than We Belive 1.0
