Around SBN: Nevin Shapiro Vows To Bring Down Miami

Warrior Wonder Standings (January)

The Warriors improved by one game in January, finishing the month with a 4-11.  Their record stands at 13-34, the third worst team in the NBA.  Just as players returned to the Warriors following injury, more went down.  This is no excuse, however, as returning players such as Andris Biedrins, CJ Watson, and Vladimir Radmonivic could not really aid the Warriors cause.

January Standings

Corey Maggette 3 1/2

Stephen Curry 3

Monta Ellis 1 1/2

Anthony Morrow 1

Anthony Tolliver 1

CJ Watson 1

Chris Hunter 1

Koby Carl 1

After a very efficient, but average for his standards November and December, Corey Maggette exploded in January.  He was the team's leading scorer in the month, averaging 26.9 points at a great 51.7%.  Maggette's two performances in close losses in Denver stand out, when he put up 35 points on 12-16 shooting and 33 points on 10-18 shooting.  When the Warriors found themselves in a half-court set, they really were a two man team, and Maggette's offensive impact was really seen in his absence last night.
