Warriors 12 step program: HELP!!!
I am a Warriors STH and after reading this article:
http://www.contracostatimes.com/warriors/ci_14489140?nclick_check=1
I realize the Warriors don't care about there fans. The reason? We keep showing up. As long as we keep showing up, they'll keep putting out whatever type of product they feel like. Hire anyone to be GM and keep around a coach who's been in Hawaii since the year started (Mentally at least).
I'm just as much to blame as everyone else. Year in and year out I renew my season tickets because once in the last 11 years I've had them we made the playoffs. And one year there after we should have.
Unfortunately I didn't leave when they broke up the team. Didn't leave when they fired the GM who, although he made some mistakes along the way, proved to be a compitent and accountable guy. Didn't leave when it was obvious they would do whatever Nellie wanted regardless of how silly the trade was.
Along the way they justified it time and time again, like a parent that beats his child, but only because they love them.
I feel like a drug addict. I am addicted to a team that is bad for me both physically and mentally. I think someone needs to start a Warriors 12 step program, because I'm becoming tired of pouring my money and time into something that is this bad. I guess admitting you have a problem is the first step.

You can start....
By changing your sig to match mine….
I think the lack of take up of this slogan by everyone here at GSOM is pretty poor…
We all love the Warriors..
We all hate Cohan as an owner of this franchise…
But I guess there is simply less appetite for true conflict in the bay area and unfortunately…until this franchise starts to encounter some of the conflict and protest in a style that the Manchester United Fans have displayed against the American Glazer family…otherwise known as ‘The Fraud brothers’..then it will never be sold and Cohan and Rowell, kicked out. (BTW…it seems the Glazers may soon sell Man United, so the fans voice does get heard…)
The symbol that has proved HUGELY popular is the ‘Green and Gold’ scarf being worn by fans as their sign of protest… now bearing in mind that Man United colours are normally Red and Black, the scarf was created as an idea by fans, as a tribute to the very origins of the club when it was known as ‘Newton Heath’ and green and Gold were their colours…

So the slogan is now… “Green and Gold until the club is sold”…..
Maybe it is time for GSOM or Fans versus Cohan…to create a ‘Blue and Gold’ scarf that every fan holds up in the arena during the intro’s of a game…to show their objection to Cohan…and yet willingness to support the team still….
It’s time something is done by the fans…if we truly want something to change…..

I'd do it but there is one snag
There are too many casual fans who either don’t know the owner is or could care less.
Stan Van Gundy looks like a maintenance man who walked into the locker room to fix something, and just decided to start yelling stuff and somehow became the coach
what if you just like to watch pro bball?
i don’t want to boycott. I like watching the warriors.

You can still watch
Just this is an act of telling him to sell at the games

how do we do that?
i’ve never heard a chant against nellie, rowell, or cohan at a game…

It's cause we have to many casual fans
If all W’s fans were like us you would, but most people who watch us don’t know squat.

Cohan is going to sell, but he is patient and smart enought to wait till
some potential buyer comes to his price or close enough. Chris Cohan was booed at the ASG, he doesnt care what the fans think of him anymore. We hate him, he knows we hate, and its time for us to realize that we know he knows that we hate him.
The sale will happen, its just going to take awhile. Just got to wait it out….

IRS is after him
He may be pressured into selling, Cohan may be smart by Ellison is smarter and will wait him out

Ellison doesnt matter, Cohan is still making money on the Warriors. Not as much as years past, but their marketing team is good. Cohan is not in such a crunch were he has to sell. he can wait as long as it takes to get his mark….

He has some serious debt issues
And the IRS is not helping, it’s only a matter of time before he has to sell. Also he’s getting sued by employees

I didn't know Cohan's financials are public information
Do you have something that elaborates on this? How do you know how serious the IRS issue is and what employees are suing him? What’s his P&L and Balance Sheet say?
Rhetorical questions, of course.

And just because he's being sued
Doesn’t mean that will force him to sell. I think it’s safe to assume that if he’s making money, he will not sell.
Companies and its CEO’s get sued all the time. It doesn’t mean the end of the world. The employee who is suing Cohan (according to you) is also racking up legal fees and is probably in a more dire financial situation than Cohan himself. That’s probably the reason why he/she is suing.

True about the suing thing
But we’ve known for a while Cohan has had his fair share of issues lately, yeah he’s making money but he’s feeling the pressure
