This has the crappy announcer. The original announcer was so fun because he was serious sounding amidst all the wacky action.

I think it's the same guy.

Although a lot of people seem to agree with you that it’s not as good as the original. Here’s a quote from xboxexclusive.com:

One of the best parts of the new NBA Jam is that the original announcer is in the game. Tim Kitzrow recorded all new voice sayings. The original “sayings” are still intact, but they do not sound the same. With that said, the announcer does not sound as exciting as he used to.

That preview has me salivating. At the same time I am kinda ambivalent because I have so much nostalgia remembering playing with Mullin and Hardaway. The only other thing I really recall from the original, was Portland; Drexler and Porter – with his giant bald head.

NBA Street sucked, NBA Jam was above and beyond even as it’s predecessor, and NBA Street was 3 on 3. So really, you’re wrong. Thanks for playing.

you are obviously unaware

that a later version of nba jam was released on xbox and playstation that was also 3 on 3. it was a terrible game! this new version does look kind of similar to nba street, though i’m sure it will be MUCH better.
