Man, we've got a ton of coverage for tonight's game.  If you haven't peeped them yet, check out:

Big ups to Project Spurs for all their help with it.

Now on to tonight's game..

Star-divide

I look at this as a simple battle...a former Spurs player

Anthony_tolliver_medium

vs. their latest greatest late-pick rookie

Blair_medium

Sure, watch Tim Duncan get a double-double.  Manu will drop 10 assists.  But what about DeJuan Blair?  He's the X-factor in this game and as so, we're going get destroyed.

Let's just hope Tolliver's bringing the heat against his former team tonight...

Unfortunately for us, Curry's out again with the ankle sprain.  There goes any chances we had to win.

Copy Paste fail?

Looks like you forgot to change the teams records from last nights game. The Warriors are 19-48 now, and the Spurs are 40-26.

Date fail

By last night, I obviously meant Wednesday night…

A win would be fun

but the Wizards are falling faster than an old lady walking in wrong sized shoes. They’re on a 9 game losing streak and they’re 2 1/2 games behind us. Let’s go bad hotel food. Let’s go bad night’s sleep. Let’s go unfriendly rim. Let’s go for the loss!

Game Predictions
  • The San Antonio Spurs defeat our Golden State Warriors, 109-98.
  • Monta Ellis leads the way with 23 points.
  • The team as a whole has a bad shooting night.
  • DeJuan Blair and Tim Duncan combine for 42 points and 25 rebounds.
  • I listen to the game on the radio because of the NCAA tournament.

Good Question

I think it’s up in the air right now. It could be a game-time decision. Personally, I’d feel better if he sat this one out.

Question for all you

Are our d-leaguers deserving of the title d-leaguer, when they have shown they are quality NBA players?
Odd, idea, but it may be something to consider. Would you guys shed our big contracts for draft picks and cap relief, and fill the team with cheap d-leaguers and players on rookie contracts, while waiting to find a star?
Tolliver, Hunter, Williams all appear to be quality nba players. Keep ‘em. They don’t make much money. Keep Wright, Randolph, and Turiaf (cheap). Keep Watson, Azubuike, Morrow, Curry. Trade the big 3(if we can) of large contracts, in Monta, Maggette, Biedrins(maybe). Add in one of: Wall, Turner, Cousins, Favors, etc, and maybe another top 10 pick.
PG: Curry, Watson, (possible pick)
SG: Morrow, Williams, (possible pick)
SF: Azubuike, Williams, (possible pick)
PF: Randolph, Wright, Tolliver
C: Hunter, Turiaf, (pick)
Salaries come up around 30-35 million, including 2 or 3 picks.
This team could contend for another top pick, or maybe even overachieve and get us somewhere with their 3 point shooting happy, fast paced style, like they have recently. We just wait for a star to come available, via trade, draft, or free agency (very possible with the cap space) . It’s better than contending around 30 wins for 2 or 3 years with tons of guaranteed salary, that isn’t getting us anywhere.
Odd idea, it just came to me today…

After rewatching that 21 pt comeback yesterday

I just realized how many 3 pt shooters we have on the available roster: Morrow, Reggie, CJ, Tolliver, George, Curry when he gets back, and even Monta can hit it just enough to be noticeable. The guys that don’t shoot 3s are Maggette and Hunter.

Somehow, that made me think of the Orlando Magic. Let’s shoot the 3 until the end of the season! Oh wait, we’re trying to lose. Never mind.

Any updates on the Cal-Louisville game

.in the mean time?

How the Warriors comeback

Stop fouling, play defense, attack the rim, and once the lane is clogged hit the open 3’s.

Steinmetz is right on point

They gave up 77 points to the Spurs. 77? OMG

by MikeAucksbigg on Mar 19, 2010 6:50 PM PDT reply actions

Yup

a combination of no size, no defense, and lots of whistles

Good day for tanking: wIth IND playing DET and NY playing PHI, we’re guaranteed, with a loss, to pick up a game on two of our competitors…

There will be no extra point!

by Sleepy Freud on Mar 19, 2010 6:50 PM PDT reply actions

Who cares

It’s not like the Warriors will get the number one pick and even if the Warriors did they’d find a way to screw it up! Joe Smith anyone?

The Clips had the 3rd worst record last year

and they netted the first overall pick.

Yeah

Maybe Stern helped give the Clippers a handout? Did Griffin even play this year?

OMGGG

I’d honestly want Matt Steinmetz as our coach than Keith Smart right now.
Maybe even over Nellie!!!!!

I have a love hate relationship with Maggette

He’s a beast on offense but as soon as the ball makes it’s way to the other end of the floor, I get upset.
He’s a really lazy defender and he needs to stop following what Monta does with the whole gambling with a reach.

Warriors are making Ginobili

Look like Tony Parker. How hard is it really to move your feet on defense?

by Rocky632156 on Mar 19, 2010 7:09 PM PDT reply actions

When Monta has hit 80 percent of the team's threes

Its no wonder why the Warriors are getting throttled

Talking w/ Monta pre-game about his prep days. He said his four-year record: 131-17. That’s 37 games on average per year – IN HIGH SCHOOL!

And you know Ellis never came out. They went to 4 state titles, winning 2. His fresh year, they played 40 gms. Curry & Morrow were in awe.

man I hope we get turner

Curry, Monta, Turner would be amazing

maggette #5

but it doesn’t matter now. Rest Maggette for the rest of the game

121 points through 3 … to the 6th-worst scoring team in the NBA… ;-P

There will be no extra point!

Popovich still bummed that he didn’t win Best Director for “Avatar.”

There will be no extra point!

oh be quiet bob

with that 3 pt stat about making 10 3 pts in a game. This is garbage time and those stats should be ignored.

by IQofaWarrior on Mar 19, 2010 7:49 PM PDT reply actions

Did these announcers even mention Curry being out???

Seem like the first announcers I’ve not say anything in a game about Curry, though I remember them talking about him last time we played them.

Nellie saw this coming

that’s why he came to ref and said F*** U

WTF FTW!

by Lat We N Trash on Mar 19, 2010 7:54 PM PDT reply actions

Well, I stopped watching midway through the 2nd

But from the looks of it the Spurs made our D leaguers look like d leaguers tonight

So let me get this straight... Maggette is the healthy guy.

Eveyone is glad its over kudos to Monta and Maggette

for at least saving us from total embarrassment. Guaranteed win tomorrow!!!

147 points to the Spurs

With Duncan playing only 14 minutes. The game was poorly officiated but the Warriors have to show some more pride and anyone believing that Smart is the answer after Nelson is gone tonight proves why he will never make it as a coach in the NBA!
