GAMETHREAD #70 - Golden State Warriors vs Phoenix Suns - Here Comes The Pain Train..
Originally posted Mar 22, 2010 6:00 AM PDT
Aaaaand the pain train continues. For the Warriors now return home to face off against the Phoenix Suns. And it ain't gonna be pretty in the Oracle tonight. While the Warriors continue to play with a hobbled roster, Phoenix has been on a tear with their big man averaging over 30 points a game this month.
So just to sum it up, their inside presence is arguably one of the most potent offensive forces in the league while right now, the biggest guy on our team is our coach. (I didn't specify height.)
Oh yea. This should be a real barnburner...

"Any casualties?" "Just the Warriors' season..."
Warriors (W-L):19-50
Suns (W-L): 43-26
Tip-Off: 7:30
TV: CSN, CSNHD
Radio: KNBR
There's really not a whole lot to say about this match up so let's just get it all out there. Right now the only excitement we're going to be able to draw from the rest of the season will come from growth of our core group (which seemingly changes every week) and the occasional surprise win. Every game is our own personal NCAA event! Well, y'know, with us being the 16 seed.
So let's hope that the boys can go out, put up a good showing, and figure out a way to slow down the lethal Nash, Stoudemire, J-Rich trio and get Nellie one win closer to the most amount of wins for a coach.
Cuz right now, it's all we got.
GO DUBS!
Predictions:
Um... Warriors by 1?

Stoudemire is going to have a field day...
but then again anything can happen. On a side note, a former Warrior is heading to the post season. Good luck, Jamal (Crawford).

hi GTTM! =)
word to Stoudemire absolutely smashin on us tonight.
As you said “anything can happen” and maybe the dubz coming back home to the Roaracle will give a mental boost and swagger to get this win.
Rockin my Throwback Warrior J-Rich jersey tonight, but go warriors still.
LGW. (someone clap to this)

hmm...was she a Warriors fan?
if she was. i dont know what to say.
The coliseum was made so u can cheer at any volume you please. It aint called the Roaracle for nothin right?
Is there a certain agenda on when and how to cheer?
I’m sure there are a lot of fans who are sick of me. Well i’m sick of them complaining about me. There are a lot more worse fans than me that are way more obnoxious.
I do my best to always be respectful to others. i’m just loud.
if you want peace and quiet there are several sections in the Oracle that have similar volumes to a library. Try purchasing them there.
I doubt I’ll ever change the way that I am.

The question of the day
is whether Chris Hunter is in or out because of the tendonitis. The Suns have had a home friendly March so far, with no back to backs until tonight, so I expect them to have their way with us tonight, even though tonight is a home/road back to back for them.
The Wizards lost again to the Lakers last night. That’s 11 Ls in a row for them, 2 1/2 games behind us right now. Let the tanking continue!
hope Hunter plays tonight.
Get your five wins already Nellie and get out.
Thank you but goodbye forever.
(nellie’s coming back next season regardless of getting the record huh?)

No, we want him to wait till next year for those 5 wins, we can’t afford to win five games now with all the serious lotto competition we have we gotta play to lose them all.

LOL. Waddup Skept.
Who do you want? John Wall so he can play center for us?
or Evan Turner at Center perhaps?
I love both their games but I dont think we should draft either of them.
I would rather go with Derrick Favors. what is he 6’10 250 lbs? I think he could be a 20 point-15 reb Per game type of player. Play him along side with AR or B-Wright. AB or Turiaf? Pick-n-Rolls with Stephen Curry all day? Hot dauggit I think this team would be so sick with Favors. Curry and Favors could be like a Nash & Stoudemire combo. Even BETTER.
I prolly wouldnt mind drafting Cousins, but I think Favors would have a potentially better upside.
Do me a favor and Draft Favors. Thanks.

Who do you want? John Wall so he can play center for us?
well , depends on what pick we end up with? First spot and I’d likely pick Wall, If we fall to 4th I’d be happy with Cousins
On the other hand If Ellison buys the team he might be able to get us RickyRubio and Lebron so the draft wouldn’t matter ?
Lights please, lights please, turn off the lights.

Warriors: Hello D League?
D League: Yes, how may we help you?
Warriors: We need to borrow another player from you. We have a broken player.
D League: Sure, what position would you like?
Warriors: Um, how about center?
D League: Center?!? Didn’t we loan a center to you a couple months ago? To help out with your broken centers? Fella by the name of Hunter?
Warriors: Yeah, um, we broke him too.
D League: Forget it. We’re not lending you any more centers until you show you can handle them with care.
Nellie: So much for that idea. Well, let’s test drive Reggie Williams at center.

with 3.5 seconds left and 0 timeouts, the inbounds pass should not be behind your own free throw line. I’m sure Nelson knows that, so I am assuming either Monta or the inbounder screwed up.
Or maybe Nelson understand the tank job and just conveniently forgot to remind the players what to do. In the grand scheme of things, I am good with this result.

Damn proud of my fellow VMI grad. I think Reggie will grow on you guys, he’s a class guy….these west coast games are killing me here in VA. I’ve lost a lot of sleep keeping up with him. He will be an asset to the team and the community. He has his head on straight and he is mature beyond his age. DB
