Postgame Quotes from warriors.com recap
On tonight's game:
"We hung around for a long time. They finally figured out a way to hurt us with the zone. We kept waiting -- and we got away with it for a long, long time -- and they finally got it in the middle of our zone and that was pretty much the end of it. Without (Ronny) Turiaf available, I didn’t have any other choice. I didn’t think we could guard them individually, they had so many mismatches. We played alright. We competed and found a way to stay in it."
On Stephen Curry:
"He proved that he was human because he looked a little nervous to start with. It was not one of his best games, but he was a factor. He was able to show what great skill he has, but we have seen him play a lot better than that."
On Chris Hunter’s play tonight:
"He was alright because he rebounded, and I think that was the main thing. I thought he competed, he played hard, he rebounded, and he did a good job in our zone."
On his performance game:
"After my first shot went down, it was good to hear the crowd and I felt pretty comfortable out there."
On playing in his hometown of Charlotte:
"I was looking forward to it the whole year. It’s no different than any other game, but it was just about who was in the stands. It was nice to see all of my family and my friends from Davidson. I had a lot of fun with it. We didn’t win but we played well until the end and that is all we can ask for."
On the applause from the crowd on his first touch of the game:
"It was a dead ball that I took out of bounds. Raymond (Felton) wasn’t pressuring me and I was dribbling it up and I could hear some cheers. It was kind of weird actually. I didn’t expect them to do that, but you can’t beat having that kind of support in your hometown. It was a fun game for me."
On playing 48 minutes tonight:
"It’s tough, especially on a back-to-back. It’s what we need right now with the amount of injuries that we have and the lineup we have, so I had to do it. It’s challenging to try to keep the level of play high the whole time."
- In the Curry articles, he said he has 6 classes left to get his degree, and he wants to spend his summers getting it.
- The road trip is STILL not over. A 5th game in 7 nights @Hornets on Monday at 5:00pm.
- After the @Hornets game, a 4 game homestand (no back to backs) with 3 of those games on national TV. Blazers (TNT), Raptors, Lakers (ESPN), Hornets (ESPN).
