Around SBN: Yankees Deny Rumors That Team Is For Sale

ESPN announced their fantasy awards, and Curry cleared court. ROY, runner-up for sleeper of the year, and both the second AND third best games of the season. Only LeBron had a better fantasy game than kid curry's TWO best nights. Also ranked third heading into next season, behind only LBJ and KD. Very impressive. "I would take Curry third overall. He's really that good"

Also of note: Monta won runner-up for comeback player of the year.

Since the break, Curry has averaged 21.6 points, 5.4 rebounds, 7.7 assists, 2.0 steals, 2.7 3s, and shot 47 and 88 percent from the field and line, respectively.

Not bad numbers for the second half of the season.

I can see Curry winning ROY, although Tyreke Evans is a nice player as well.

Did Morrow get ejected???

Wow

I know fantasy is WAAAYYY different than real life, but this guy just ranked Steph as the third best prospect fr next season! In front of Paul, Wade, and Bryant!

Living for a magical 8th seed run

It's pretty ridiculous to put him ahead of Wade and Paul

both of those guys are fantasy monsters. Bryant really isn’t that huge in fantasy. ESPN listed him as 5th to start the season, but he was barely a top 10 pick.

I don't think it's THAT ridiculous

although a bit, yes.

Curry will probably be ~22 ppg player if everyone is healthy next season. His FG%, 3pt%, and FT% are very high, probably higher than Wade and Paul (they might be higher FG%). I think the person is really taking into consideration the situation that Curry could be in next season.

First off, turnovers will likely go down.

Heres the biggest factor though. With everyone healthy (our big guys), Curry’s assist numbers could make huge strides. Currently he has very few options to pass to, who have had variable success finishing. Next season he will hopefully have players to pass to who can finish, particularly in the pick and roll.

22/11/4/2.5 (pt, ast, rb, stl) is what I could see him doing. Throw in his 46/44/90 efficiency, I could see his fantasy numbers being crazy.

Exactly

A huge part of fantasy is , and Curry will most likely beat Wade and CP3 in FG, 3FG and FT next season. He’ll score as much as CP3, and hand out more assists than Wade. He’ll be right with both of them in rebounds, steals and turnovers. It’s mind-blowing that he’s #3, but I also think it’s 100% accurate.

EDIT

That was supposed to say “a huge part of fantasy is %”

by bradyk2 on Apr 13, 2010 10:12 PM PDT up reply actions

that Steph statline is CP3-esque

I think the biggest reason to draft him over the other two is that he’ll have a lot more 3s than both CP3 and Wade.

haha, I guess that’s why they call it the fantasy awards?

Well

His percentages are sky high, he shoots a ton of threes, and contributes to every category. He was also strongly factoring in the injury risk. But yes, third is very ridiculous. Top fifteen is not though.

We have to remember this is FANTASY

And this guy studies fantasy stats for a career. Obviously, he knows what he’s talking about. There’s no objective “I think Wade is better” (obviously he is a better player), this is based on stats, per games, percentages, etc….and judged by an unbiased guy who does this for a living. I won’t pretend to understand fantasy ball all that well, but I will agree with what the ESPN expert says.

haha, I doubt anyone cares enough about fantasy basketball to pay someone a living wage to study it? This guy probably lives in his mom’s basement or maybe his wife supports him?

Lights please, lights please, turn off the lights.
