Postgame Quotes from warriors.com recap
On tonight's game:
"Well there was a (Morrow) sighting tonight, good to see. He’s struggled a little bit with his shot of late, and with Reggie (Williams) playing quite a few minutes, his minutes suffered a little bit along the way. He had his opportunities tonight when we went with the smaller team; he just had one of those great nights. Everything he shot he seemed to go in, or have chance to go in. We just went to the hot man basically, and kept running stuff for him and he delivered, nearly every time. I thought everyone played pretty well, it was an incredible game by David Lee. He was unstoppable…for us…he was unbelievable. Played an all around game, and actually guarded pretty well so he should be pretty proud of that game. It was just the kind of game I thought it would be, a high scoring game, and it was, and we prevailed. I think we had the hot hand here at home and did a lot of good things. I thought C.J. (Watson) stepped in and ran the team very well, and he knew to go to the hot man as well, and he had eight assists and that’s mainly because of (Anthony) Morrow."
On tonight's game:
"I’ve been working a lot of different things. I’ve been working on, getting in the paint, and making plays for my teammates and defending and just kind of letting my jumpshot kind of be a plus. My teammates kept finding me and I just want to keep playing like this and finish the season off strong."
On scoring on mismatches:
"Last year and this year guarding guys like Corey (Maggette) and Stephen (Jackson), two guys that are two of the best post-up guys in the league, I learned a lot from them and that’s something I work on everyday. I know I can come in and get a mismatch and make a play, and not just score, but make plays for my teammates"
On Coach Nelson:
"Coach Nelson is a guy that gave me my first chance in the NBA, so if I can help him get that record, that will be kind of my way of saying thanks. He’s a great coach, one of the winningest ever. I'm just happy to be a part of it. "
On tonight's game:
"I was definitely impressed with him. I mean he caught fire. He was the hot guy tonight...16 made field goals for 35 points. He could do no wrong, everything he put in the air was falling it was like he was shooting in the ocean tonight."
On Coach Nelson:
"We want to get him the record, but we also want to finish the season strong. Not just the wins for the record, nice to win them all, but just build for next season and just carry momentum into next season. We have some injuries, and we are missing a few key pieces, but I think if all that comes together things will start rolling."
On igniting the team's energy:
"I was actually trying to give myself a spark. I’m still a little sick; I can’t breathe really hard so I can’t really do what I want. I was a little sluggish, so I just tried to get offensive rebounds and get some easy stuff. I was just frustrated, frustration of being sick and being frustrated about being sluggish. We have a team out here that has a good time, guys made great plays and I was just frustrated I could not get the steal because I was so slow and the other guy was so fast so I just wanted to show my team that I was trying to hustle down there."
