Yes guys, I feel your pain. We aren't going to be able to end up with John Wall or Evan Turner or Derrick Favors, but we still have out options. Our biggest needs are down low at C as well at SF. There still should be plenty of promising players available at #6 and here are some of them:
Wesley Johnson: Many consider Johnson to be in the Top 5, but there still are pretty high chances that he falls to us at 6, all depending on how the combine goes. He is one of the oldest players in the draft and will be 23 by the start of next season... Wes seems to have some of everything and seems like a good all around player, but lacks playmaking ability. He seems more like the guy that won't be the leader of the team but could become a good sidekick (possibly for Curry?)...
My NBA comparison: Shawn Marion
Al-Farouq Aminu: One of the most athletic players in the draft and at only 19, has loads of potential. He has shown to be a great rebounder and defender (both needs on the team) and can also use his athleticism to get to the basket and score... also a hustle player, he can be a momentum shifter or make a freakish play that gets the crowd involved... still a raw player, he has a bright future although he needs to work on his jumpshot.
My NBA comparison: Josh Smith
Greg Monroe: Another young player, only 19 years old, he seems to have a very good knowledge of the game especially for a big man... he has exceptional passing ability. Hes also developed a decent jump shot and some post moves. On the downside hes a little turnover prone and sometimes doesn't seem like he's trying his best.
My NBA comparison: Chris Bosh (obviously not as developed of a player yet)
My pick: If all 3 of these players were available, my choice would be Aminu. I think that he would fit perfectly in the Warriors run'n'gun system and would love to see him in transition... his defense is also a piece we need, he has the potential to develop into a future first/second team defensive player and can become the player we use to guard the opponent's best player. I hope he's still open when its our turn to pick...
