Can't say I really dig the emblem just being stuck onto a white jersey—it feels somehow incomplete. Might just need to see it as an actual jersey rather than a 2D mockup.
Meanwhile, what the hell is going on with Secondary Logo B? SF??

It's alright.
Better than what we have. I like the partial logo

Yeah, I agree with that. It’s okay, but I do think it’s an improvement.

is this legit?
If it is, i agree with you. I really don’t like the logo stuck on a white jersey. I do like the yellow stripes down the side though. Also, an SF secondary logo???? What is up with that? I live in San Francisco, but I still think that’s messed up. This team plays in Oakland, and should have a logo relating to Oakland or the bay area in general.
wow.
I really dont like the white at all. I wish it was a blue jersey. and the secondary logos are terrible

The mark is OK, the lettering just jaw-droppingly terrible. Generic store-bought typeface, crappily typeset (note the awkward relationship between the W and the A of “Warriors”) — just half-assed, amateurish, retail-y and wimpy overall. Not the attitude an NBA team should want to project.
One thing that gives me a ray of hope is that the title of the board is simply “2010 logo and colors.” Nowhere does it say “logotype” or “typeface”; and where the PMS color are called out clearly, the typeface (Copperplate) is not. Makes me wonder whether the crappy type they keep showing is “for placement only” while they work on a bolder, stronger, more contemporary, more manly, less generic type treatment. Fingers crossed…
There will be no extra point!

Sleepy, admit defeat. Be prepared to stare at Copperplate for at least this coming season. It’s showing up on all instances of the logo, on the website as headers…
I asked the Warriors marketing director A) if the design was done in house, and B) if Copperplate was permanent. He didn’t give me much of a response, though it’s become apparent by his tweeting that the design is def in-house. Not sure about the uniform, though. I’ll bother him some more about this.
I think all that white space is fugly
It would be better if they had thin blue stripes going down the white space
What in the _ hell is this???

I don't like it
The logo is okay, but the rest of the jersey looks so generic. The jersey makes the logo in the middle stick out a little too much, it’s like looking at a Flava Flav clock or something.
The SF secondary logo is amazing, though. I’ve always liked San Francisco better than Oakland anyways. It’s about time the Warriors do something to give other cities in the Bay Area some recognition; some NBA fans still think that the Warriors only rep Oakland.

Okay after looking at it for a while, it's kind of growing on to me.
Like the OP said, it might look much better as the real thing instead of a cardboard looking 2d picture.

white home jersey
Boo…. that was one of the pull of the City Jerseys. The yellow home and blue away just fits. I’m just starting to grow on the new logo (I like it but just looks too corporate and not a basketball logo) and they release this crap.
This looks like one of the jerseys you can make from that NBA Live jersey creator awhile back.
You may be looking at the Sunday whites similar to what the Fakers do.
My guess woul dbe we are going to have 3 jerseys. Blue, Yellow and White.

Hopefully me means the jersey will be blue and yellow, not just the logos and stripes.

I set my expectations low when it comes to the Warriors
so I’d say these are our home jerseys.
But I would love to be wrong.
The new jersey
I don’t like the yellow stripe on the sides. It makes it look bad. Solid colors are better.
That looks sweet

they need to get rid
of the logo on the jersey period..it’s way too much going on..they look like rec jersey or some practice jerseys..keep it simple and make them timeless..just simple warriors across the chest and put one of those secondary logos on the shorts …no one puts the logo on the jersey anymore…like how the jazz used to have the mountains on their jerseys and they simplified to the current ones which is clean..sixers and kings simplified their jerseys recently and it looks alright..if these are really the jerseys..they aint gonna last long..i swear the warriors be coming up with the worst ideas..who would approve this new look..SMH
The problem with the jersey is that there's no balance
The logo looks nice.
I get what you say about the logo being too much, but I think the real problem is that the rest of the jersey is too little. There’s no balance. The logo is a lot while the rest of the jersey seems so light and weak. It’s like there’s too much emphasis on the middle of the jersey with the rest of the space being irrelevant. When I look at it, it kind of strains my eyes because I feel like I’m supposed to focus more on the logo in the middle of the jersey instead of the entire uniform.
I hope the Warriors organization will realize that a majority of the fans are disappointed. I hope they’re on the internet right now checking the fan’s responses on forums and boards. They need to know that the jersey’s aren’t that great. Hopefully there’s still some time left to make little changes to make the uni’s more attractive.

And if GSoM can pull off an ad in the Arizona newspaper thanking J-Rich...
… then I’m pretty sure we can do something to let the Warriors organization know that a majority of the fans are not content with the new jerseys. Maybe if we do something, it would be enough for the Warriors to make some changes to the design.

How hard is it really?

I find it a little unacceptable that on the DAY the Warriors put out a new jersey concept, the fanbase creates much better concepts.
And, why not just wait until next Thursday to show the finished product?

Larry Ellison will save us if he buys the team.
He’ll see the jerseys and say, “WTF IS THIS SH*T?!”. Then he’ll spend 500 Million on creating the best design possible. ha.
by Precise Films Productions on Jun 17, 2010 6:01 PM PDT reply actions
Seriously.
It’s a tad bit disingenuous to claim that this new look pays homage to the W’s legacy, while apparently mixing the worst of new NBA uniform design (unnecessary side panels, the Denver Nuggets Pantone scheme), while completely botching this update (Copperplate Gothic, unprofessional design elements) and the release (leaked months ago, making no changes to the design even after the almost universally “Meh” reception, and now making an incomplete style guide available to the public)
Then again, this IS the Warriors we’re talking about, so huge clusterfucks should seem par for the course.

The white ones
better be their alt jerseys. Hopefully their home jerseys are yellow and their aways are blue
The white ones are their homes. The yellow ones will be the alternates.

Not that it matters now
Since let’s face it, they’re not gonna pull a last minute change. I’m pretty sure, the merchandise are already getting ready to be shipped as we speak or maybe sitting in some warehouse right now. But…
Aside from making the jersey white, another mistake they made I believe it the font. As you can see from the old jerseys, the text are only on top of the Circle. I think having the whole “Golden State Warriors” makes it more cluttered. It’s not much but if you add that to the fact that it should be on a yellow jersey and perhaps take out the unnecessary side strip, it might turn out to be a decent one if not the classic we were hoping for.

Agreed. Anyone hoping for any changes at this point will be greatly disappointed.

At least for this year
It’s not unprecedented for a team to make minor tweaks a year or two after a uniform release. Maybe Ellison is a closet typographer, buys the team, hates the type, and petitions an immediate change..
One last minute change that can be possible
They can just say, “F*ck it, the fans don’t like the white home jerseys. Lets just set the white ones as our alternates that we’ll rarely use and make the yellow ones our home jerseys”.
Problem solved.
