I'd take it as a pure salary dump.

Buy out Bell, let Gadzuric ride the pine and throw him in whenever we need a big body.

I’d do Redd for Maggs if he passed a physical

Rafael Rodriguez: #8 on our list, tearing up Scottsdale, and has been alive long enough to see the Warriors make the playoffs once.

by BrianBokake on Jun 22, 2010 3:07 AM PDT reply actions

Hell, I'd do it anyway.

Just buy out Redd if he doesn’t pass.

Vlad + Maggs for Redd

Maggs has a bad contract

but this is ridiculous. he is too good a player, he is a leader on the team (in terms of working out, treating body right, staying level headed), and he is much more efficient than a lot of our guys. If we get Monroe then keeping Maggs makes sense. We could slow it down a bit, improve our ball movement in the half court game, and run at times too. Maggs can play SF wen we slow it up, Morrow or Reggie when we run.
Honestly, this front office is ridiculous. Maggs was given a huge contract even though we knew his limitations, in my view he has played as expected, at times (this past year) even better. He was never going to become a great passer or rebounder, and now they want to ship him out for a career bench center? Why did they sign him to begin with?

by tjmax on Jun 22, 2010 7:33 AM PDT reply actions

Why did they sign him to begin with?

They panicked and made a bad move? I like Maggs, I think he helps our team, but I want out of his contract. That we made a mistake before in overpaying a guy who just isn’t a good fit for a rebuilding team doesn’t mean we shouldn’t correct that mistake if we get the chance….

by Missing Barry on Jun 22, 2010 7:49 AM PDT up reply actions

I agree

i just think correcting it means getting more in return

by tjmax on Jun 22, 2010 8:09 AM PDT up reply actions

This is not being done why?

With Buike, Williams, and Morrow we don’t need Maggs anymore.

DO THIS TRADE NOW!

Then re-sign Williams, Morrow, and Buike.

Morrow sucks

Morrow is a one trick Pony. He can’t dribble, he’s among the leagues worst defenders, he makes poor decisions with his passing, he sprint isn’t any quicker than Beidrins. he’s the epitomy of over valuing our own guy. Do not pay him more than one million per year. We could get Rautins in the 2nd round or undrafted….. for less money.

by Balance on Jun 22, 2010 9:54 AM PDT up reply actions

Two trick pony! He rebounds. He’s also exceptionally good at his one trick – shooting, let’s not assume that just getting another shooter will replace that trick, they probably won’t be the shooter that Morrow is.

by Missing Barry on Jun 22, 2010 9:59 AM PDT up reply actions

How about if you're #1 at your trick?

Do you know how many players in NBA have hit 200 3pm AND have a 3pt% of > 45%?

Anthony Morrow
Steve Kerr

NBA players 3pm > 200 and 3pt% > 46%

Now compare him to active players > 200 3pm, ranked by 3pt%

Guess what?

Morrow is #1 at 46%
Kapono is #2 at 44%
Nash #3 at 43.2%
Gibson #4 at 42.4%

Active NBA > 200 3pm

Kapono got 6 million last year and Gibson got 4 million. So spending 3-4 million on Morrow seems reasonable to me considering his is a better shooter, rebounder, and overall player.

Nicee. I agree that Morrow is good, but he isn’t a SF however. Him and Williams (and maybe even Buike) are SG which sucks because that leaves us with no one at SF. If we could get Rudy Gay here…

Warriors.

Two trick pony! He rebounds.

He’s the specialist supreme. If the lakers can keep sasha we can certainly find a spot for More-O

Lights please, lights please, turn off the lights.
