Ford: Warriors leaning to Udoh if Cousins and Favors are off board
ESPN's Chad Ford indicates in the fourth bullet point that the Golden State Warriors are leaning toward Ekpe Udoh with the sixth pick if Derrick Favors and DeMarcus Cousins are off the board.

Finally, it looks like the Bucks aren’t done dealing. This afternoon they traded Dan Gadzuric and Charlie Bell to the Warriors for Corey Maggette. Now sources say that the Bucks and Nets are in serious negotiations on a deal that would send Chris Douglas-Roberts to the Bucks for a second round pick. With the addition of Maggette and Douglas-Roberts, you have to wonder if the Bucks may look at something other than a wing with the No. 15 pick in the draft.
[Info on Randolph] Would have been valuable at this time... But our management failed.

If this is the case, then he better be able to play center.
He’s about 6’10" with a crazy long 7’4.5" wingspan, so he should have no trouble playing center once he beefs up a little. That great wingspan will definitely make up for his slight lack of height. I’d probably still go with Monroe though, but I won’t be angry if they pick Udoh.
I like Udoh ..
I don’t want lost playing time for AR and BW though .. Could be an option at the 5. Since our bigs always get injured, he’d be a good replacement lol
Udoh is a solid choice. I feel much better about him than I do Aminu of Ed Davis.

I like Ed Davis way more. If you’re looking for a role player, what’s not to like about Davis?

I like Aminu’s rebounding and defensive versatility more.

Davis has similar size to our other PFs, while Udoh at least has the poundage to play some C. Plus Udoh has a pretty sweet mid-range game out to the college 3pt line.

Let’s just trade the 6th pick if no one comes our way. I dislike anyone named Cousins, Johnson, Wall, Turner, Favors.

I agree
Despite being a deep draft, it is completely luck from 6 and beyond. There are too many potential 6th picks. We don’t want to be the ones kicking ourselves when our 6th pick goes bust and the 7th, 8th, 9th and 10th are all solid players.
Total defeatist attitude
We’ve come across better then expected players in the last few drafts so why not now?
roll the dice and see what you get, we are too bad of a team to squander away any kind of top 10 pick.

After watching Baylor get eliminated in March Madness...
I was in awe at how good Udoh looked and he was on my draft radar very early in case the Warriors slipped. I honestly do not mind this pick at all. His age doesn’t bother me. My only concern is how this effects Randolph. Oh, and my other concern is that he reminds me of a 6’9 Pietrus looks/body wise.

He does
look like Pietrus lol. I would just rather have Cousins fall to us or take Monroe though

Can't wait until GS wins a championship!!!
This is just Chad Ford trying to be relevant
His Mock Draft has been too fluid and will keeep changing tomorrow.

monroe will be a poor man's tim duncan
If Monroe stayed all four years like Timmy did he’d be a top 3 pick. He’s got big shoulders which suggests he’ll fill out more, he has a great attitude and a high bball IQ and is a great passer. More than any other big not named Favors, I feel like he is going to get much better in a couple years (Cousins may not get much better than he is now).

stolen from another website:
At first this comparison seems laughable since Duncan is a 2-time NBA MVP, 3-time Finals MVP and first ballot Hall of Famer. But when you look at the type of player the two are, you see a lot of similarities.
Both can play like point forwards trapped in a center’s body, which presents an obvious match up problem with a beefy center. In Monroe’s case, the Princeton-style offense runs through him, almost making him a front court point guard – the perfect system for a player of his skill set.
Both have been knocked for being unselfish to a fault. Big men prospects are supposed to fit the mold of a Shaquille O’Neal, a player who can use brute force to clear the lane and suck up any rebound in the remote area. But Duncan has had an entire NBA career to disprove the theory that he’s too soft. On occasion he can show a tiny bit of emotion on the floor and his three NBA titles are certainly proof that opposing teams can’t just push him around.
Monroe doesn’t have that luxury yet and he has more issues than lacking a nasty streak NBA scouts like to see. His post foot work and any move to his off (right) hand needs improvement. Even if he’s great handling the ball, at his size he has to be able to hold his own in the post, something he can do in college thanks to raw skill alone. He will definitely need to bulk up in the pros, but scouts are not afraid that he can’t add much weight to his frame.
my two cents: you gotta think that adding bulk to frame and working on footwork would happen if he stayed in college like Timmy did. could be a steal people.
it's more likely if he played all 4 years he would be a bottom first rounder
this is how the nba draft works. Come out your first fully year of play time and you become a lottery pick. Stay for an additional year or two and you drop in the draft. It’s very rare for a player to improve their draft status by staying longer due to the NBA’s love with potential, to the point they turn a blind eye to how many freshmen old big men have failed in the last decade as lottery picks
Randolph is a garbage-point collector and Wright is probably never going to be an NBA starter, not JONeal at all.

this is true in this day and age, but not when Timmy played in college
If Duncan was in college today he’d have to make the same move that Monroe is doing. We’d be saying he lacks explosiveness, intensity and speed, and he’d be a top five or six pick. I only watched Timmy as a senior in college, he was clearly a top pick, but between his freshman and sophomore year I wonder how good he was.
In Monroe’s case, the Princeton-style offense runs through him, almost making him a front court point guard – the perfect system for a player of his skill set.
So what you gonna do with Binky if you got your center handling? Send him into the paint to do Bynum’s job?
Lights please, lights please, turn off the lights.

If Cousins and Favors are not available at the 6th, I would go with Greg Monroe or even Paul George over Udoh at the 6th Pick. Because after the top 5, everything is a roll of the dice. I rather roll my dice with a player that has the potential to make everyone around him better (Monroe) or the risky potential of a future star in Paul George.
