You Decide on Team USA: 2010 FIBA World Championships
Two years after winning Olympic gold in Beijing, Team USA enters a rough stretch without its best players, despite Jerry Colangelo's best efforts. Given the lack of superstar talent, which 12 players would YOU select to be on the team, and which starting lineup would YOU pick?
Not Attending: For reasons ranging from injuries to free agency to personal reasons, these players will not be participating in the FIBA World Championships this year.
Carmelo Anthony
Carlos Boozer
Chris Bosh
Kobe Bryant
Dwight Howard
LeBron James
Chris Paul
Tayshaun Prince
Dwyane Wade
Deron Williams
Top Contenders: Given the lack of superstar talent outside of Durant, these have been considered by ESPN to be the top contenders for a spot on Team USA in Turkey.
Chauncey Billups
Stephen Curry
Kevin Durant
Tyreke Evans
Rudy Gay
Danny Granger
Andre Iguodala
David Lee
Brook Lopez
Lamar Odom
Rajon Rondo
Derrick Rose
Amare Stoudemire
Russell Westbrook
Bubble Players: Most of these players probably won't make the team, but they have an outside shot.
LaMarcus Aldridge
Eric Gordon
Jeff Green
Al Jefferson
Robin Lopez
Kevin Love
O.J. Mayo
Gerald Wallace
I am interested in seeing who you think will have the greatest impact this summer for our team. Long offseason is long, so this will be another chance to rosterbate and debate whether you actually want Curry and Lee on Team USA.

How will Rose's game translate to the Euro game?
Usually the players that do best there can shoot
This is my sig, what do I do with it?
We're in trouble if those lopez brothers are all we're going to have for us at the C position
Cryogenically freeze me and wake me up when Ellison has made an impact on the team!
I feel as if Marcus Camby should be the starting center.

ahahaha
the bubble players could beat spains national team,
Here's how I break it down:
9 Locks
Point Guards:
Chauncey Billups
Rajon Rondo
Derrick Rose
Swingman:
Kevin Durant
Andre Iguodala
Danny Granger
Bigs:
Amare Stoudemire
Brook Lopez
Lamar Odom
Seeing how much we relied on Jason Kidd the last olympics, I think Billups will see the floor a lot. Billups and Durant will be the main oustide shooters.
For the 3 remaining spots, in order of likelyhood:
David Lee
Lamarcus Aldridge
Tyreke or Curry
It will be the Tyreke vs Curry debate all over again.

A shooter is more important than a slasher. Give me the guy with the court vision, higher IQ and more steals as well.

Tyreke is not a good fit for the Euro games...
He can’t shoot and relies on bullying his way into the lane.
Notice how Wade and Kobe were the most effective during the Olympics?
Are you implying that Wade doesn't do that?

Well they don't bully there way in
They use more finesse than Reke
This is my sig, what do I do with it?
Reke has a fair bit of finesse
and Kobe doesn’t really get to the rim much. More often than not, he just takes a fadeaway 15 footer.

Reke has some finesse
But I think his lack of a jumper and the same goes forR Rose make them bad fits for team USA
This is my sig, what do I do with it?
Yeah,
but it’s not like Wade has much of a jumper either.

Certainly better from mid range which is the 3 point for international.

And also
Wade typically does what we saw Maggette do last year, where he just barrels into his defender and throws up his arms.

Anyone's OK as long as there are no Warriors
I’m damn tired of injured players. I want some guys who have a fighting chance of lasting an NBA season. A heavy summer schedule is counter-productive.
I think
some guys are locks like Durant, Amare and probably Gay and B Lopez. I think with Curry’s shooting he has a great chance to make it and with David Lee being a good big man he has a good chance. Would be great if both made it, just stay healthy!

Not a good fit at all for the euro game
Rose gets in on hype but he won’t be that good, notice guys like Shaq and AI were never big for team USA. They just weren’t good fits
This is my sig, what do I do with it?
