5 People who could help our team?

Do you think these five players below would help our team with:

  1. winning
  2. providing good back up minutes
  3. brining toughness/and some leadership
  4. helping our bigs and our guards out with some moves
  5. dominating the opposing team when our starters need to rest ( i dont know how to say it, but these two players could take over a game themselves, and thats exciting if we can rest our starting 5.)

Those five players would be

  1. C.J. Watson
  2. Allen Iverson
  3. Matt Barnes
  4. Anthony Toliver
  5. Shaq "The original Superman" O'neal

Iverson, barnes, toliver, and shaq, and williams!! thats a good back  up lineup.... Don nelson would have a head ache with all the things he could do with that lineup. He could do an iso for williams, and iverson!. he could let iverson and shaq do pick and roll, he can let iverson and shaq do a pick and roll and kick the ball out to toliver or williams for a three.... shaq would attract two players could dump ot off to toliver or williams or iverson for a three.. idk but that seems cool for a back up five 2 me..

Star-divide

You all may ask why, or how could these players help at all?

Lets go downn the list:

C.J. Watson- He knows our system, he knows our players, and hes just a good and cheap pickup overall.

Allen Iverson- Everyone says "O hes getting old, his attitude, hes not willing to be a 3rd string or backup player"! I really think allen iverson (Ai) could help us. He can easily take over a game hisself. When Monta and the rest of our starting five go out to rest, he can be the guy to take over the game, he stillhas that in him. Also if we throw him in with curry, allen iverson doesnt mind not having the ball in his hands all the time. Hes never really had another guard that can play with him and could throw him the ball for an open shot or anything like that except in the all -star game. I mention the all star game because thhis guy is still a star in my eyes, were talking about the guy that showed MJ up, were talking about the guy who is happy in the all star game who doesnt mind throwing alleys to someone. I really think he'd fit in well. Plus he has the speed and we have the nice system where your free to shoot the ball and do whatever. This would be a still for us. I rather have him on our team then a d league player or any other free agent out there. Ray Allen is old, Kobe is old, all the stars in Allens class are old, but they are still dominating and are competing for a ring! Id love allen here hes a still. he also can bring some toughness into Curry and Ellis and show them a thing or two.

Matt Barnes- He belongs here. That picture with him and baron jumping up at eachother explains it all. Hes a good player and can provide some good minutes. Has some good height. He knows don nelson ( although he may be on his way out of here, he also knows monta, wright, and biedrins. He possibly can screw all three of there heads on right and get them thinking we believe again.) He can shoot the three, he rebounds, he will defend. He will get some hott girls at the arena LOL. he and cj. could rock the MOhawks. Idk i just think he belongs here, his mom last seen him in a warriors jersey, they barried his mother with some warriors stuff. I think that means something to him, get barnes back!!

Anthony Toliver- Theres not much to say about the guy, he belongs here, hes earned a spot on our team. He came in last year and helped the team out tremdnously. He knows our system and i thnk the players like playing with him. Sign him back please and hes cheap for now!

Shaq "THE ORIGINAL SUPERMAN" Oneal- I feel the same way about him as i do allen iverson. We need shaq! First off he could teach our main man biedrins and lee some good post up moves, and how to play ball. Shaq if we throw him into a second lineup with allen iverson thats just like us having a kobe and a gasol, just a lot older. But hey id take that, these two guys allen iverson and shaq are both capable of having big nights still. the other teams just didnt know how to use them.  Allen iverson can play a little old school. When shaq was on la and ai was on the sixers in the finals.. but this time they can play together. They can set eachother up, do some pick and rolls, bring some stars to our crowd, they can enliven the best crowd even more.

Curry, Ellis, Wright, Lee, Biedrins!- That lineup isnt to bad, i feel that lineup is going to be a legit lineup this year and were going to be able to handle the opposing teams pretty well no matter who it is even if we have a small back court. We will out reboudn teams now, get more low post scoring, and monta and curry will do what they do best score score score, and run run run!

Williams, Watson maybe, toliver maybe, charlie bell, dan g, b. wright, ekpe udoh!-  im not feeling that back up squad to much. Williams, toliver and watson yeah we know what we can get out of them. The rest of those players?? Wright hes to fragile and getting injured to much. bell and dan g????? and udoh, come on man, you already are injured man. just sit out this year and gather as much info as possible.

Addiing shaq and iverson-  let me just say this when kobe and shaq were playing together, then it was shaq and wade! Back then all you needed was two stars to get you a ring. Times have changed and now you need a big three.L.A.- Kobe, Gasol, and is it artest? or bynum?, Miami- lebron, wade, bosh, celtics- pierce, allen, and garnett.. These are all championship teams and they have a deep bench! We have a good starting five, possibly two stars in curry and lee, or ellis and lee, or even all three. Orlando has dwight howard and vince carter. but they have a deep bench... I know im going everywhere and not sticking to one clear topic, but im going to try to clean it up now.

All the teams i listed above Lakers, Miami, celtics, and orlando. they have a big three and a deep bench. So they have the opprotunity to play there big three and when they need them to rest, they have a deep bench to go to, and they also can sub there big three back in at random times.

The warriors only have a good starting five. There back ups are decent players if they had to play one on one, but theres still holes missing. Next years free agents, and the year after have some okay free agents. So i think signing iverson and shaq would do us some good. All i want is to see us in the playoffs. I cant think for you, but all im saying is we cant ride our starters all season and hope we do a we believe thing again. Shaq and iverson both have created names for themselves and teams are affraid of them. Tossing them into a back up lineup would meean that opposing teams backup players would have to guard them. When iverson and shaq were in starting lineups it was tough on them because they had to go up against younger stars and they were to old, but they still got there little points here and there. Throwing them in our back up line up would do us some good.

Iverson, barnes, toliver, and shaq, and williams!! thats a good back  up lineup.... Don nelson would have a head ache with all the things he could do with that lineup. He could do an iso for williams, and iverson!. he could let iverson and shaq do pick and roll, he can let iverson and shaq do a pick and roll and kick the ball out to toliver or williams for a three.... shaq would attract two players could dump ot off to toliver or williams or iverson for a three.. idk but that seems cool for a back up five 2 me..

anyone who can quote from “Dumb and Dumber” epitomizes what the movie is truly about.

Congratulations.

Maybe Shaq

I think A.I. is done. Not for BBall reasons, but I think it is much deeper than that with him. But, Shaq still does draw double teams and he is still very intimidating in the middle on Defense. The question is, would he even consider signinig with thw W’s. Besides that, I would like to see about Fresenko (however you spell it). He is younger and could grow with our young squad. He’s not as skilled as Shaq, but is a good rebounder and he can bang with the big bodies.

Riley desrves a chance!!!!

Shaq in our system would be harmful to watch.

Let's Go Warriors!!! Playoffs 2011, baby!!!!!

Definitely not Iverson

I’m with you regarding Watson, Barnes, and Tolliver (for the right $). However, Allen Iverson is the last guy they want to add to their roster. He is toxic and I don’t see the logic in adding him to a team looking to make a fresh start. The reason everyone say he isn’t willing to be a reserve is because they are simply quoting Iverson. He’s made it perfectly clear he is unwilling to come off the bench. He was unwilling to do it for a playoff team like Pistons and he wouldn’t do it for the Grizzlies.

The guy missed the entire preseason with Grizzlies and had a tantrum because he didn’t play start and get enough playing time his first games back. He is a very selfish player and has no desire to be a mentor to younger players (not that I would want him to be a mentor to the Warriors’ young guys).

As far as Shaq, I’m not sure he would want to play for the Warriors for the money they would be willing to offer. He is probably looking to sign with a playoff/championship contender. If he was willing to come to the Warriors, I wouldn’t have a problem with it. If he could give them 15-20 minutes off the bench he could be useful. Although at his advanced age and girth, I don’t really know if he could handle playing in a high paced offense. I think he would probably pass out from exhaustion on a nightly basis.

All good

until Iverson starts sulking about not playing 35 mins a game…Shaq? forget it he’s done! Only person I would take a look at is Barnes

by Brothaplease09 on Jul 18, 2010 3:07 PM PDT reply actions

ABSOLUTELY NO

to both Iverson and O’neal. O’neal, who would not come here anyways, is slow and clogs the lane. That is the exact opposite of what we want from our big men. With the way our team is built, all he would do is detract from the other players. Iverson is a ballhog! He is saying the right things because he wants to get back into the league. As soon as he doesnt get the PT or touches he wants drama will start up again. Also, Iverson is FAR from the type of veteran role model we want around such a young team. Neither acquisition would help at all. In fact, they would both hurt our team and hinder the development of our young talent. You are stuck in the early 2000s.

Anthony Tolliver!?!?!?!

by DubsFan408 on Jul 18, 2010 4:20 PM PDT reply actions

Free Agent Options

R. Butler has been mentioned be for. Others I would look at are Roger Mason who can play both guard positions, is playoff tested and can make a big shot.
Jonathan Bender paired well with D. Lee in New York, But it’s always a gamble that Bender can stay healthy but can be gotten cheaply. Also Tolliver like Bender could pair nicely with Lee as he also likes to float around outside and shoot jumpers.
T. Ratliff, he still has a little left in the tank as a shot blocking threat.

by montaellis4president on Jul 19, 2010 12:32 AM PDT up reply actions

and can dominate in a game still…

No, they can’t.

Iverson has not scored at a rate of 20p/36 min for two years. He is not the same guy he used to be. During those two seasons his TS% was .505 and .515. He is done.

There is no reason for the Warriors to want him when we have Monta Ellis. Love Monta or hate him, but at this point he’s far better than Iverson, even if he doesn’t rebound from last year’s poor season.

Shaq can no longer rebound his position adequately. He’s not very mobile and doesn’t get up and down the floor well, making it hard for him to participate in offense on a team which runs. His defense has become almost nonexistent. And while his efficiency may be still adequate, he’s just not able to get enough touches to be a dominant force.

It’s not 2004 or even 2008 any more. These guys are old and over the hill. They are done.

Really, per 36 he was still at 10 rebounds. That is good. More than bad.

Looks like someone needs to crawl out from under his rock. In the real world not everyone is going to agree with your fanboyish and fantasy-driven opinions, and that does not make them “haters.”

Are you going for the record of most

poorly thought out/badly written fanposts written in quick succession? You’re the favorite right now.
Anyone who complains about “haters” is being lazy. If people disagree, it’s not usually because they don’t like you or the players as people. It’s often because the ideas are stupid and/or presented very poorly.

Shaq and Iverson

dont have any stars in them just old

by CoreyMaggette on Jul 19, 2010 11:04 AM PDT reply actions

thats why...

thats why everytime when we played denever or the pistons and cleveland we lost right? it was too much for our team to handle the young star in lebron or melo… and adding the old guys in who we know were stars who could heat up any given night. we couldnt stop them and when it came down to the wire we always would loose….. thats why contending teams are going after these guys more so shaq then iverson… we have a star in ellis.. he can dominate a game.. curry can as well.. we would have shaq and iverson primarily as old guys to dominate in second lineup.. they arent that bad now.. they may be old.. bbut they still can hang..

Just stop

I’ll give you that adding Shaq is a less bad idea than adding AI, but it’s a bad idea no matter what. Shaq made the Cavs worse when he was on the court, even when he was competing for minutes with someone like Big Z.
