Next Season Will Be Exciting For Us!
Ok my fellow Warrior's brethren; we are at the cornerstone of possibly becoming a perennial play-off team if we're able to create some trades this year or signing's next year. As it looks like, we are not a championship contending team right now but we definitely have a shot possibly next year. Looking at our Warriors, we have 3 expirings and a trade exemption still not used. If we're able to hold onto this for next year there are a lot of prospects for us to choose from. I will give a list right now for the top 10 free agents next year and I need your guy's input to which one we should go for. If you were gm what would you do and why?
Starting from 10-#1.
10. Joel Przybilla from the Trailblazers: He's a solid backup Center with great contributions to his limited PT. Last season he averaged over 10rpg and 2bpg with over 53% shooting.
9. Tyson Chandler from the Dallas Mavs: Another good center with solid contributions. He is a great defender in the paint and has a great presence as well. Although, he does not have great offense he would still be a solid backup C.
8. Troy Murphy from the Pacers: Our old warrior teammate. He still has the skill to spread the floor with his shots and is a consistent rebounder as well.
7. Caron Butler from the Mavs: Solid SF, although he played as sg for the Mavs. He would be a great addition to us because he is definitely a starter in the SF role and is effective on both offense and defense if he plays the way he used to with the Wizards.
6. Nene Hilario from the Nuggets: Another PF/C player with solid contributions. Very effective in rebounding, and has some offensive game.
5. Zach Randolph from the Griz: This guy can flat out ball. Definitely one of the top 10 PF's in the game with solid stats. If it were not for his off-the-court drama this guy would be better valued. Has a great all-around-game.
4. Jamal Crawford from the Hawks: Another fellow Warriors teammate of the past. We all know what he can do, and we know he is one of the best 6th man in the game. He has the explosive offensive capabilities to supplement a contending team.
3. Tony parker from the Spurs: Another all-star point guard that would be great in any team that doesn't have a floor general. (We don't really need him since we have Curry which is the future version of Steve Nash with defense).
2. Yao Ming from the Rockets: This guy has great offensive capabilities and a monster rebounder. Has presence in the paint and will be a great Instant Upgrade to Beans. (Would love to give him max contract next year for our starting Center)
1. Carmelo Anthony from the Nuggets: The #1 prospect for the 2011 FA. Superstar on both sides of the court. Need I say anything else?
With the top 10 free agents of the 2011 class who would you choose for our team and why would that decision make us a better contending team for the title next year? Post your answers and let the fantasy begin.

Yao Ming would love the bay and we'd love him
I guess this signing all matters on who will be our coach next year. Because he will probably get injured if we still play fast. If we’re a 50 win team by the end of the season then Melo isn’t out of the question. I still think NY will suck even with Amare so that could sway him to come to the Bay.
I'd give up my right nut for Nene
Heck, if he can do it so can I!
Because talent? You want to add a guy like boozer because hes talented? I’m sorry i just don’t see that as a valid reason. -- fffindeed

Curry/ Crawford/ Watson
Ellis/ Williams/BArnes
Melo/ Wright/Barnes
Lee/ Wright/ UDOH/Toliver
Biedrins/Yao/Toliver/UDOH

Melo takes the money and fame in New York, so I'm all for bringing back JRich as well as signing Pryzbilla
Curry/Watson
Ellis/Williams
JRich/Wright
Lee/Wright/Udoh
Biedrins/Pryzbilla
That’s a top 6 Western Conference Squad for sure, particularly if Melo goes East. Ideally I would hope that DWright establishes himself as a Stack Jack/Matt Barnes hybrid so we start him and make JRich 6th man of the year.
I can hope…..
carmelo, yao, and JC. aka jamal crawford
We would have a killer lineup..
Curry/ Crawford/ Watson
Ellis/ Williams/BArnes
Melo/ Wright/Barnes
Lee/ Wright/ UDOH/Toliver
Biedrins/Yao/Toliver/UDOH
Curry and Ellis = VICTORY & A WE BELIEVE 2010-2011 season!!!!

LOL...
Curry is the future Steve Nash (agree)..with defense?? lol not so much. And your willing to throw a max contract at Yao Ming even though he is very injury prone? eh I might have to think about that one. But yes he would love it here in the bay. Way too many asians not to.
Curry
is better at D than Nash ever was. He’s just average now, but I see him becoming a better defender this season. As for Yao, he is not a good investment. The guy is always injured… need I say more?
Curry is not terrible at Defense
as long as he guards other small guys.

Curry stacks up as a league average defender. Monta doesn’t do so well. I will cut Monta slack for getting the harder assignments so often. Really for a good defensive back court either Monta or Curry need to go and it probably won’t be Curry who goes.

nash against curry in their rookie seasons
curry > nash even considering defense. Nash has maybe a couple of years left and curry has a bright future. id rather have curry hands down.
even considering defense.
this kind of implies that Nash’s defense was better than Curry’s. I’m pretty sure that wasn’t the case.

First of all, I’m pretty sure most rookies outperformed Nash when he was a rookie. That’s what makes him so unique as a player because Nash sucked until he was what, 27 years old? He wasn’t really “Steve Nash” until he was 30. Now he’s 36 and he’s still putting up very good numbers, doesn’t seem to be slowing down. Right now Nash is the better player, but I wouldn’t trade Curry for him because of the age difference, not because of the talent difference.
I would like to have J Rich
back. A Curry/Richardson backcourt would be awsome. I love Monta, but I just don’t see a Curry/Ellis backcourt for us longterm

Monta Curry JRich, 1 2 3
Unless DWright becomes what we hope he’ll be, then JRich would be 6th man of the year.
JRich CJ Reggie BWright Pryzbilla, best bench mob in the league? and we would still have Udoh….
No defense, yep.
I wouldn’t say this lineup had defense
Davis
Ellis
Jackson
Barnes
Harrington
Biedrins
Pietrus
Yet they won 48 games in the most competitive year the west has ever seen. The west is also getting weaker….
Baron Davis and Stephen Jackson are both pretty good defenders

Couple of thoughts:
Carmelo, like most volume scorers, is somewhat overrated. He’s solid, a good player, but not as good as his scoring totals would have you believe, and would demand a lot of touches. It’s hard to see how he coexists on a team with Monta and Lee, as there are only so many touches to go around and both those guys are going to get a lot of shots.
Yao is a very good player, but he’s not a great fit for an uptempo team. I have a hard time seeing how a team which is trying to exploit the skills of Curry and Lee is going to work really well with Yao, who’s a halfcourt, back-to-the-basket, slow-it-down, toss-it-in and stand around kind of player.
Troy Murphy I don’t want any part of.
Nene would be a good fit but is unlikely to accept backup money. I like a three-man big-man rotation of Biedrins, Lee, and Nene, but I suspect Nene is going to command enough cash to make that prohibitive.
Zach Randolph is a trickier fit. Furthermore, he’s been bounced around a lot, and I tend to think that teams have been all too happy to trade him for a reason. I’d rather stay away.
Crawford has no place on this team. He’s not a point guard, and we have dynamic wing scorers in Monta and Williams.
Tony Parker adds very little when you have Curry. I’d rather have Curry going forward.
Caron Butler isn’t that good. He’s overrated because he scores at a decent clip, but he doesn’t score well enough to be a major asset. He’s a bench player on a good team. D. Wright could potentially be much better than him if he keeps doing what he’s been doing.
Joe Przyb would be a great guy to round out our big men with, especially if neither Wright nor Udoh put it together. Same could be said (with a little less excitement) of Tyson Chandler. If one of those guys is your third big man, you’re in good shape. Both will be looking for the chance to start, however.
id trade curry for parker
i’d trade curry for Eva .
but as a player binky has more upside.
Lights please, lights please, turn off the lights.

That's just dumb.
Curry was the better player last year, and he’s still improving.
Last year was an off-year for Parker, but it’s not clear if it was a fluke or that his skills are tailing off. Next year will be his tenth in the league, and one shouldn’t expect more than a couple of more good years out of him (that is, if you can call last year “good” – he was below average by wp48.)
Stop Dreaming!
This season will be more of a downer than last season… I hate it, but it will be.
Warrior Nation How About Trade Monta
For Marc Gasol and O.J. Mayo With Fillers both ways to make it work?
Marc Gasol is the best player in the trade

I Think With the Right pieces in Monta Trade
It Can Work Even If it’s Monta and a 1st rounder who cares let’s WIN NOW! Are Line would Be Scary!!!! Curry/Mayo/Wright/Biens/Gasol
OH heck yeah!
that line up would be amazing.
Curry/Mayo/Wright/Lee/Gasol that’s 2 stars and 2 all-stars that’s legit.
