It's clear that, to at least reach the playoffs and be successful, you need at least 1, if not 2 A's on your team.
Go up and down every playoff team from the West last year. At least 1, if not 2 or 3 A's on each team.
Laker - Kobe, Gasol, Artest, Bynum, Odom (2 A's, 3 B's)
Phoenix - Nash, Amare, JRich (2 A's, 1 B)
Spurs - Duncan, Ginobili, Parker, Jefferson (maybe 3 A's, 1 B)
OKC - Durant, Green, Westbrook (1 A, 2 B's)
Dallas - Dirk Digler, Terry, Butler, Haywood (1 A, 2-3 B's)
Utah - D. Williams, Boozer, Milsap, Okur, AK47 (2 A's, 1-3B's)
Houston - K Mart, Ariza, Scola, Yao, Battier (maybe 5 B's)
Portland - Roy, Aldridge, Oden, Miller (1 A, 2-3 B's)
Now lets look at our WARRIORS (last year)
Monta, arguably our best player last year? I would give him a solid B. Great on O, not so great on D.
Curry, I would give him a solid B as well. A lot of growth took place last year, but got better and better.
Biedrins, a D. Two years ago, B.
Maggette, C. He scored, but that's about it. He ruined team flow, cohesion, and fundamental play.
Those are probably the only 4 worth mentioning because the rest is just C or lower. Randolph didn't play, and when he did, he was a C. Morrow was a C as well.
Curry - I think it's arguable that he's on his way to being an A. I'll put him as an A- next year (hoping no sophomore slump.)
Monta - No reason to think he'll change. B
Lee - A, B+ at the very least.
Biedrins - Hoping for a rebound and a solid B.
That puts us at 2 A's and 2 B's. If Monta can accept his role as second fiddle, he might be able to mature into an A. However, doubtful.
Any way you slice it, this team is supremely upgraded over last year. Health is always the wild card, but we now have legitimate pieces at 4 positions. And still a solid bench.
How would you grade our team as perceived by the rest of the league?
Lookin forward to next year!!
