I dont want to watch this video.

After years of losing, i don’t want to hear this new owner talking about the business side! WTF! i’d rather hear him talk about moves this team will make

Bring Greg Papa Back!

would be a nice early act by the new ownership.

Encouraging

I really like what I heard in that interview. It’s easy to see that Lacob is a fan and very aware of what the team needs. Looking forward to a era of Warriors Basketball

Sounds very knowledgeable and likeable

I like the point he made about the lack of low post presence being more of what is preventing teams from winning, rather than the actual run and gun style of play. We have half of what we need down low in David Lee, but we need to get a center who can intimidate down low. That doesn’t mean Biedrins should be gone, because I think he could be a very good backup center if we were to keep him around. We could also do a sort of center by commitee thing, and sign a guy like Pryzbilla or Chandler, and have them split time with Andris. I think that could be pretty successful. I don’t really see the type of center we need in next years draft, but next years free agent class has some guys we could go after (exs. Perkins, Chandler, Nene, Gasol, Pryzbilla, Dalembert, and Yao and Oden are longshots).

I think my confidence in Biedrins just dropped with that comment. A $9 million/yr backup center?

It sounds bad, but it’s not that bad. If we can get something good for him in a trade, then do it, but if nothing worth while is on the table, then he won’t hurt us by coming off the bench. Odom, Ginobili, and other guys come off the bench and make a bunch of money. I know Biedrins is not on their level, but if we can win with him contributing off the bench, then I don’t see the big deal. It’s not like he’d be some useless guy sitting on the bench like Eddy Curry.

Yoyo said it above. You can’t have a back-up center making that much money. The only way that could happen would be if, for example, we had drafted Cousins and at some point he became a better option. Even then, however, you still probably would not be able to commit that much money to one position. Remember, a lot of other guys need to get paid as well, and it all has to fit under, or nearly under, the cap.

Dude, you only get one vote.

Actually, you get zero, since you already cast yours by making the original statement.

Based on what I’ve seen and heard so far from Lacob … +1. ;-)

There will be no extra point!

Hahahaha, you are insane with the +1's!

I have to say

that I came away from the interview feeling pretty good….Ive heard Guber speak on a post here at Gsom and i feel very good about his enthusiasm and confidence ….and with Lacob he seems very knowledgeable from a ownership standpoint and also seems dedicated to winning. I really feel good knowing that Guber is a good marketer and is an entertainment guru which i believe should carry over well to ownership of an NBA team…especially an NBA team with upside such as ours. I love how they want to come in and turn this team into a perennial winner instead of business as usual….I feel confident that they will turn us around like Robert Sarver did the Suns with possibly better results…even if it takes a couple more seasons

I'm holding off my +1

I gotta see it to believe it. It sounds great but I hope he backs up his talk.
