Curry playing for USA bad?

Besides the fear of injuries there are a couple things I worry about. With the USA team using Curry for his shooting abilities, do you think that might transfer over to how he plays with the Warriors? Will he lose some of his playmaking mindset? Although he will gain experience and pick up new things by watching other players, he will also be developing friendships that might give him ideas on where/who he would like to play with in a few years...

Even though Team USA is using him as a shooter, he’ll probably be the same guy when he’s on the Warriors .I’m sure he won’t forget how to pass or make plays. So he can’t develop friendships with other players? I think you’re being a bit paranoid because the whole LeBron thing went down…

I'll go one step further.

I don’t think as many players will want to leave based on how much negativity surrounded Lebron when he left. Not saying Curry would be affected by that one way or the other, but when guys like Byrd, Magic, Pippen, MJ, Barkley and so on, say their disappointed in his decision, I think other players will look at that and want to do it differently.

dude, he’s not stupid. He’s not a parrot to learn something and come back and forget everything else. What I like is that older guys are deferring to him, which Tyreke had over Curry in year 1. Another thing is that his defense looked pretty good. Hopefully he can keep that. up

I'm not saying he's going to forget how to play

I’m just saying that since he’s getting so much praise and is being used only as a shooter that he might change his role on the Warriors such as Monta did when he became the leader of the team.

He is not that stupid…it takes a lot to be a professional athlete at the highest level…

he knows how to carry himself.

Curry's doing what the coach tells him to do.

Same thing will happen in Oakland. Nothing to worry about. Except him getting injured of course.

Don Nelsons system is so wide open Curry can do whatever he wants

he wont lose that by playing college ball with Mike Krzyzewski for a few months.

Yeah

other than getting hurt, this USA experience should only help Steph. Playing with the top players every day will help him. Coack K is already saying good things about his defense and Curry is so smart i’m sure he’s picking up the little things that he learns in his time with Team USA. I wouldn’t be too worried about Curry changing his game this season. He’ll be ok, most likely an even better player.

If anything, I’d be excited about it. Like you said, he’s probably learning some good things from guys like Chauncey Billups and Coach K.

If anything it will teach him how to be productive with limited touches

That way, once he gets to be the main ballhandler in Golden State, he’ll be more efficient without trying to do too much with the ball. He won’t have to dribble the ball so much in order to get a shot off, which means he’ll only dribble a lot when it’s necessary.

Curry playing some tremendous defense. If he brings it to the regular season this experience will be well worth it.

Curry

On team USA ball isn’t put in Curry’s hands, but it should be with the W’s. Should only take him a few practies to regain PG mindset. It’s not like he’s been playing the SG for 6 months.

Yeah Curry's

defense has been great for Team USA. He already has the steals but the on ball defense is great. If he comes to Golden State with that look out!

Selling Curry short

Think you’re not giving Curry enough credit to think one offseason of being a shooter can make him forget how to play PG or make him not want to play PG. Following this same logic, why after spending a whole season w/ the Warrios as PG did Curry not forget how to be primarily shooter?

Only concerns concerning Team USA play

1) Worried he might get injured …. considering the injury history behind this team I admit I’m a little nervous that he might get injured also. Look @ David Lee who only managed one day of practice before requiring surgery. We’ve really got bad luck when it comes to injuries.

2) Fatigue going into the season. Pro season is much longer than college season. Curry after completing his professional season then jumps into Team USA training & then back into NBA for season 2. I’m wondering if he’ll wear out towards the ending of the upcoming season.

===
However, I think both these points is just me being a paranoid fan who’s used to seeing the glass as half-empty instead of half-full when it comes to the Warriors.
