ESPN - Ellis Happy in Oakland
This is the best Monta Ellis related news I've read in a while. He's really maturing, and if he can take it a step further and mature in his game he will be unstoppable. Those quotes alone show he's willing to play with Curry and Lee and do whats necessary.

could you post some of these quotes?
i used to have insider as a freshmen in college but they kept charging my bank account even when i asked them to cancel my subscription which led to me overdrawing my account which meant I was actually spending 34 dollars a month for insider and so i decided to say F that and i have never subscribed since even though now I have a decent paying job and the cost is something I can well afford.

= )
There have been rumors that Monta Ellis could be dealt because the Warriors want to pair Stephen Curry with a bigger guard in the backcourt and to reduce future payrolls. Ellis doesn’t think he was ever on the trade block this offseason and is happy in Oakland.
“I think that was a rumor,” Ellis told The Clarion-Ledger. "The deal was with the (Golden State) players who got traded. I don’t think it ever was with me.
“I’m happy where I am … It’s like when I talked to (Curry) this summer. The only thing we can do now is play basketball. I thought we did a great job last season, but we didn’t get the wins. They (Warriors management) got us a lot of new pieces (including All-Star forward David Lee from the New York Knicks). Hopefully, we can stick them together and plug up the holes (that) we’ve been missing.”
Ellis has four years and $44 million remaining on his contract with the Warriors.
lol

Positive Quotes in the Offseason = SUCCESS!!!
Because talent? You want to add a guy like boozer because hes talented? I’m sorry i just don’t see that as a valid reason. -- fffindeed
i still don't know why you care
let us warriors fans have our inane little fantasies =) You don’t see me go onto your site and laugh at you guys trying to rationalize Cousin’s horrible shooting percentages or his seeming inability to jump more than 5 inches off the floor.
Goal: 8 seed!
Because I read hee, comment here, and am actually interested in the Warriors.
Next time I rationalize Cousin’s horrible shooting percentage or his seemingly inability to jump more than 5 inches off the ground let me know if it’s an inane arguement or not.

Goal: 8 seed!
so let me get this straight
you want me to get out because I am a Kings fan? You are specifically saying I shouldn’t comment here because I am a Kings fan?

haha
you mad?
given that hating other sports teams is one of the few avenues of irrationality allowed in today’s society, i will exercise this right and tell you to leave, king-lover! YARGH
actually tbh i don’t care if you post here or not, i’ll still tell you to get out though. It makes as much sense as allowing the fans of other teams into an arena but still yelling at them during the game.
Goal: 8 seed!
Well considering I thought you were seriously telling me to leave, yeah I guess I was a little upset. Not really mad but yeah not exactly happy about it.
I’ll tell you what dso, if I jump into a game thread on GSoM then I will be down for all kinds of immature smartassery and won’t even think about it after the game (well I might get a good chuckle from the insults if they are in fact funny).
At the same time, it is a bit odd to be told to leave a sports webpage because I am a fan of another team. I have not hid anything from anybody, I don’t try to drive home a Kings fanboy agenda here, and if I were to join you in the back and forth (which yes I do understand if you meant it in a harmless way) I would have about 50 comments about how I am a troll and I would be banned in about 10 minutes. Don’t get me wrong, hey I decided to comment on here on a Warriors page but if you want to tell me to get out when in fact I am not trolling I do find that a bit odd.
And no, I don’t think me laughing about quotes from a birthday party being used as an arguement that roster moves will equal success should be considered trolling. If you think it’s trolling, then go ahead and flag it.

those cows deserved what was coming to them
Totally random but oh well …
It’s actually find the whole “Sacramento is a cowtown” stuff kind of funny and endearing in a way. For example, when I lived up in Spokane, I had people up there telling me I’m from a cowtown which I thought was spectacularly hilarious.
Don’t get me wrong, it’s not a sophisticated booming metropolis, especially compared to California standards, but it hasn’t technically been a cow town in a long time. My family has been in the Sacramento area since around the early 1900s and my great grandparents were ranchers, owned butcher shops, ran cattle, and also had a pig farm. You don’t see any of this stuff in town anymore, it all went down to Stanislaus County and other parts of the Central Valley. Now, Sacramento is mainly a state worker town.
I dunno I find it hard to get offended about the cowtown remarks (and yes I thought what you said is funny) and am always baffled how people from Sacramento get so offended by it (I mean, heck I haven’t seen a cow in months). If anything it just sort of speaks towards the town’s heritage. Considering my family was back here in Sac during the cowtown days I kind of think its sorta cool to look back at those days and be proud, plus it cracked me up when we had the cow bells at Arco back in the day.
I dunno, it just sort of cracks me up how people here in Sac have such a small town Napolean complex about that stuff but then again I’ve lived in bigger towns and smaller towns before.

All the cows went to Davis! Davis is close enough to Sactown, whatever! ;)

It's actually funny you said that
When I lived in San Jose I got the cowtown thing and I was curious and would just ask “Why do you think cowtown?” I expected people to say “because Sacramento used to be a central hub where a lot of cattle were shipped across the US” but every time it was “I saw a lot of cows when visiting friends at UC Davis.” It kind of cracks me up because the whole idea of Sacramento being a cowtown was based on something completely separate. Not really a bad thing but just funny.

Funny, I also don’t get offended when everyone asks me to take the photo or to fix their computer.
It’s when my boss asks me to drive him around in his antique rickshaw is where I draw the line in the sand.

Not really. I dislike it when people on here tell others they can’t join in on discussions because they like another team. Iono, dso seems kinda immature bout this.
well I am glad I assumed you were joking
because my dumb ass also assumed you were talking to me. I was so confused so I just tossed it up as being a joke.

Ellis happy w/ Curry
I know lots of ppl are eager to trade Ellis but I don’t think Ellis trade value will go down over the course of this season so why not give them one year to play together w/ Lee, established PG & healthy supporting cast.
Best case scenario, they’ll make a good combo & we’ll have 3 good starters & one solid center. Will they all play well? I don’t know but the upside is worth giving this a shot.
