Hometown Hero: Murphy Says He's Ready and Able To Help Nets Win [Nets Daily]
Good for Troy Murphy. T-Murph always seemed like a cool cat. Can you believe this is the first time in his career, aside from his rookie season, that he won't be on the same team as Mike Dunleavy Jr.? Maybe Murph's playoff-less streak will also end? Okay, probably not.

Haha lets see: You give Troy Murphy tons of praise but you bash Biedrins all the time?

But, you know… Murphy can shoot a jump shot. He isn’t exactly efficient at shooting them, nor is shooting a ton of jumpers that efficient an option on offense, but who cares about that? Apparently if you can’t shoot the jumper, you are either not trying hard enough or you just simply suck. Amirite?

Well this is basketball we play which implies some shooting skills are preferable?

Murphy gets a bad rap from Warrior fans
but have you seen the rest of the Pacer’s team he was one of their best players.
Yeah but he might be among the worst defensive players in NBA history.

Better front court?
Beans and Lee or Lopez and Murphy? In some ways this is a toss up. Lopez is going to be a top 5 center and Lee is a top 5 (or 6) PF. Beans and Murph are sort of middle of the pack at their position. If Beans can return to the form of a couple years ago – we have the better frontcourt.
Too bad we don’t have Lopez and Lee. Oh well.

That would be an abysmal front court defensively. It’s definitely “too bad” that we don’t have Brook Lopez and Lee, but only for other teams.
Lopez is pretty sound on defense
Has the height, strength and fundamentals. I wonder if for both Lee and Lopez, because they are counted on to be primary scoring threats down low that they don’t work as much on defense. Also, for Lee, he has always gotten better at his game in each off season. I expect him to become a better defender this year and those that follow. He seems like a guy that would be really troubled being labeled a bad defender.
Robin is pretty sound on defense. Brook is much less so, perhaps because his “offensive twin” label has been ingrained into his brain. He has the tools considering a near carbon copy of him is playing good defense over in Phoenix, but he lacks the interest. Last season in particular, the Nets had to play Lopez with Josh Boone in stretches to make up for his defensive liability, and Boone isn’t even that great defensively.
As for Lee, I certainly hope he holds up better defensively at the Power Forward spot than he did at Center. Though, knowing Nellie, Lee is likely going to see a lot of time at the 5 especially if Biedrins continues to regress.
I actually kinda like Andris and Lopez with Andris guarding 4s more than Lopez and Lee

Beans and Lee, but I rather have Avery Johnson over Don Nelson.
Nelson lovers can take Lopez and Murphy.
"Go ahead. Make my day."
no no. i hate Nellie, but Avery is a bad coach.
