Please don't trade for Anthony
I don't see any reason in trading for Melo. He would most likely be a one year rental because I think the chances of possibly resigning with us would be very low. Plus, we would have to give up many pieces in order to get him, further thinning out our depth.

I don't think the Warriors would trade for Anthony if he was a rental.

Dude you kidding me we get a chance to get Melo? Melo > Monta
Curry and Melo, that would be nice! =)
LOL I was thinkin that too.
I mean honestly who can we count on off the bench besides Reggie Williams. I mean second best is Brandan Wright but he can’t even seem to stay on the court so far in his career. We can always feel our bench with desperate veterans so that’s not a problem!
This is like the Amare situation again.

get him
if you can sign him; you now have three -Melo-Curry-Lee All star players 4 if you can keep Ellis which I doubt.
Melo will not have to carry the team ,only be a big part.
This big three and two D leaguers could win some games.
even if he was a rental at least we would get a long ovedue playoff run
its not like we get one every year around here
If only if only...
Common LaLa convince your man..
As far use being able to package some players to interest Denver, we can easily do that by throwing in monta’s name. If the Knicks best offer is gallinari and curry.. Monta and bwright + an expiring and a couple picks is much more appealing.
Magic doesn’t have much to offer, and neither does Houston nor new jersey. Only team I can see having some pieces is Portland

definitely
id pretty much move anybody but curry and lee to get it done. even if its one year rental at least we could say we have been to the playoffs twice in the last 15 years

No way we make the deal without Carmelo signing an extension first
Just like the amare deal.. Even if we were willing to give up curry, we still wouldn’t of pulled the trigger cause amare said he didn’t want to cone to golden state and would not sign the extension

if
we can make a package around ellis + wright + garbage then a one year rental would probably be worth it as servicable 2 guards more or less grow on trees.
WOW are you serious?
Getting a player like Melo would instantly bring Warriors back from dead (in terms of NBA perspective). It’s of course not only way, but if he has an extension and price is right, I don’t see why you don’t pursue. PLEASE NOTE THOSE TWO POINTS.
Clearly gutting Warriors to have Melo + 4 dleaguers isn’t the answer.
Yahoo sports reports if the Nuggets trade Melo they want to move JR Smith and Kenyon Martin and rebuild. The KMart part doesn’t make sense cause he’s an expiring. Personally If Melo signs an extension I’d more than willing to trade expirings + Biedrins + Monta for that trio. I don’t think it’d get it done. It’d probably take some draft picks too AT MINIMUM. . Granted losing a center would be a huge blow, but financially we’d be enough under the cap to pursue any of the legitimate free agent centers available next summer (Gasol, Horford, Oden, Perkins etc.)
FYI this works:

But I see no motiviation for Denver to do it. Would put us in playoff position in 2010-11, but if 1 of those centers came in 2011-12 it’d be awfully exciting core to see for next 5+ years
