Dear Mr. Lacob,
As a die hard warriors fan who is only 13 but probably knows more about the Warriors and their organization then anyone in this world, I am begging you. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE DO NOT TRADE CURRY FOR MELO. CURRY IS THE FUTURE OF THIS ORGANIZATION AND EVERY KNOWLEDGEABLE WARRIORS FAN IS AWARE OF THIS. AS A ROOKIE HE WAS SELECTED TO THE US WORLD TEAM OVER THE LIKES OF TYREKE EVANS, GERALD WALLACE, OJ MAYO, AND RAJON RONDO. THAT IS A RARE AND ASTOUNDING ACHIEVEMENT. I would not trade Curry straight up for Carmelo Anthony let alone trading him along with Biedrins AND PICKS.
Now, THE TRADE THAT SHOULD BE OFFERED IS: MONTA ELLIS, BRANDAN, WRIGHT, AND FILLERS OR EXPIRINGS FOR CARMELO ANTHONY. IF WE WANT WE CAN REPLACE MONTA WITH BIEDRINS, BUT THEN WE WILL NOT HAVE A STARTING CENTER. IF THE NUGGETS DON'T ACCEPT THAT THEN US WARRIORS FANS DO NOT CARE. JUST PLEASE DON'T TRADE CURRY. IF YOU DO WE WILL HATE YOU FOREVER.
THANK YOU FOR TAKING THE TIME TO READ THIS!!!!!!!!
YOUR # 1 FAN,
Aakash Sastry

Aakash,
You are only 13? That is impressive. You are a good writer. Do not worry. I agree that Steph Curry is amazing and we have no intention of trading him. I will not say NEVER, but it is HIGHLY unlikely.
Keep rooting the team on. We will make you proud.
Joe
All I can say is wow. The amazing Joe Lacob responded to my e-mail in 8 minutes.

Whatever you think of the rumored trade...

This is true
I believe him because I wrote him Joe Lacob about 2 weeks ago and he responed back to me. I told him that we should look in to get Kevin Prichard as our GM and Brian Shaw as our coach along with some other thing. Its awsome that we have a new owner who will write back to us so he knows how we feel and we know he knows. I would encourage every one to write to him and let him know how bad we want to win along with other things like Kevin Prichard as our GM and such. If we have enough peolpe tell him we might be able to get him to make changes based on us the fans.

He meant he agrees
that Prichard would be a good addition to Golden State because of how well Kevin Peichard did in Portland. It doesn’t mean that he will sign him to our GM position just that he knows he’s a very good GM. I think if enough people come to him about Kevin Prichard than he may get him maybe

Haha, Steph Curry is my favorite Basketball player in the world
and as the e-mail said, I’m only 13. So there’s a lot of gullibleness (is that word?) in me.
Living for a magical 8th seed run
the word is "gullability"
it means easily deceived or duped
I think a more appropriate word would be precociousness
pre·co·cious (pr-k sh s) adj.
Manifesting or characterized by unusually early development or maturity, especially in mental aptitude
way to go dude, take this to school and get yourself some extra cred it in Social Studies, or English, or something

That’s really nice. But actually the real reason that I wrote in all caps was because I thought it would stick out on his e-mails and it would give it a chance of a reply. Yeah
you seem like an intelligent kid. I also like how you snuck (or screamed, lol) the comment in there about Ellis and B Wright for Carmelo, if anything. I don’t mean to nit pick, but if you thought it would stick out more being in all caps, I’m pretty sure the only thing you can see without entering the actual email, is the title. Then again, maybe I’m mistaken, given the fact that you earned a response in 10 minutes time.
That’s why I usually cry wolf when I’m absolutely in need of attention. My girlfriend was very pissed off at me one night. So I just drove somewhere within 10 miles of her house and parked. Called her up and told her my car broke down and I needed a ride. She came over and we talked for about an hour on the hood of my ride. All was forgiven….until I started my engine and drove off. It’s okay to use a little trickery some times to get where you need to be.

I actually started liking the Warriors because I thought thier jerseys were cool and our name “Golden State” just sounded so awsome to me back in 2002. I also liked Jason Richardson because he was a great dunker and I liked Gilbert Arenas as well as Jamison. My cousins were all Lakers fans so I wanted to be different and like somone else. Moved here from Hong Kong 15 years ago after deciding to move back to the states(moved to there from Manhattan Beach in LA)….decided on Bay area and drove around the whole bay area….moved to Mill Valley which became too “gentrified” for my tastes and discovered Fairfax. Well in the East Bay
You could try Pleasanton. A lot of new developments there for pretty fair price. Not cheap, but at least new(ish). I got a few friends moving there.
If you want to live in a town with character I’d definitely go with Alameda (across from Oakland) or Berkeley. Both are awesome to just walk around in. I always wish I went to Cal for that reason.
SF is a great city to live in if you can afford it. You definitely don’t need a car to get around. Buy a Muni pass. If you don’t mind a lot of cold, wind and fog that is.

we've now had a couple exchanges...
they went as follows:
me:
I am sure you are getting a ton of emails – so I apologize for adding to the abundance…but PLEASE do not trade Curry for Melo. I want to be a season ticket holder and take my son to see Curry – not Melo who cares more about money and fame than winning and teamwork.
thanks – Tony
joe: see above
then I replied with:
wow – great to see you respond to my plea – somehow I can’t imagine Larry Ellis… whats his name doing that.
Since I have your ear – a couple things more…
I’ve been a dubs fan since Sleepy Floyd got 29 in one quarter against Magic and the Lakeshow.
Things I’d love to see . . . somehow trade Monta and filler for Iguodala, get a new coach who players respect and who demands excellence (have you considered international coaches?), and clear out the front office. Maybe keep Riley if we can’t get Pritchard or West.
No matter what – you have really brought hope to us fans – thank you so much for taking the reins!
then, in his last email, he replied with:
I like Igoudala.
No comment yet on management.
Joe
pretty cool.
Hey guys
I think this is a very cool story. Whether it was Joe himself or an assistant (likely) it was very cool that you received a response. I’d just like to remind everyone that this is his business email for KPCB and it wouldn’t really be appropriate to be flooding his inbox with Warrior related questions.
I actually emailed him to ask if he preferred that this email address be removed from our site, and he (or an assistant) did respond. I hope he wouldn’t mind me publishing the reply
Mike,
Thanks for the note. Let me think about this. I am very focused on getting the deal done right now. The e-mail issue is a problem. My KPCB e-mail is, unfortunately, public on our website. I have not thought it appropriate to have a Warriors e-mail until the deal goes effective.
Joe
I think it would be cool if everyone refrained from sending him emails at this address. If you wouldn’t mind, please rec this comment. I’d like everyone to see this.

I hope if we don’t step on his/their toes too much, the lines of communication will be allowed to stay this open

I hear you but...
he wants to hear what we think and I really appreciate that.
he could easily find ways to filter warrior fan emails if he chooses to.
As far as I am concerned I emailed him twice and he responded both times so I guess it doesn’t bother him too much yet. If we are mature and thoughtful in our emails that probably will make a big difference too. Gotta love the guy – he buys the team and just can’t wait to get things going and has a great attitude about fans reaching out to him.
Yeah
I just feel bad that the email has been published on GSoM. If anyone wanted to go looking for it that’s one thing, but posting it here along with the fact that he actually gets back to people could encourage a ton of email.
He’s been super cool about it. I’m just trying to respect his business at KPCB.

True, and it’s hard to imagine as an individual that your one e-mail can be a problem, but if you get 400 people sending you emails each day….that’s not really that many people compared to the population of Warriors fans, but that many emails IS a problem.

Hey
if Joe’s concerned with an email flood problem, perhaps we can build a section on GSoM for him, like a “Lacob’s Corner” or something where we can throw all sorts of ideas and comments to him. Plus he’d get a good idea of what the fanbase thinks.

That's a good idea!
“Lacob’s corner” has a nice ring to it. It’s refreshing to know that we have an owner who actually has his ear to the ground. In case he ever strays too far in his power, he can never say “Well, it’s not like I was ever that guy, anyway”.
Thats a
great idea IQ. Would we be able to do this though? We haven’t even updated the website with our new look yet :( If we could that would be great though!

No prob
Sorry I posted it, I was just mad
On another note, he says he’s concentrated on getting the deal done. So there may be some truth to this. I hope to god our back court isn’t involved in the deal.

Just to be clear, he was referring to the purchase of the team, not the Carmelo deal.

Now that you’ve finished e-mailing get off the computer, get a ball and go to a court and work on your on game.
Did anyone ever email Cohan? Was he an unresponsive franchise destroyer or just a franchise destroyer?
He probably never responded back haha

He’s definitely got his guy on it now. You guys need to leave him alone.
'Like' my band. I mean, it'd be awesome if you did that.
So I just want to state for the record that I hate Andy Roddick even more now than I used to. Because he sucks so much (obviously) and can’t even win a 2nd round US Open match (but still took it to 5 sets), I wasn’t able to watch any of the US Basketball game last night. Ugh. Stupid Andy Roddick.

Haha, just watch women’s tennis and you won’t have that problem.

I’m actually a big fan of women’s tennis. The only mens players I like to watch are Federer, Nadal, and to a small extenet, Djokovic.

The best is flipping on a random womens tennis match between two pros you’ve never heard of and discovering one (or both) of them are hot. Especially if they end up being good.

I say the same about the WNBA.

1 bust/bum = 1 superstar at your local 24/YMCA
Think about that the next time you’re waiting in line to play and you gotta watch those clowns shoot air balls and never pass.
You had money on it?

Tennis match went long and went into the US Basketball timeslot. When I went to bed, it was still 4-3 in the 5th set I think.
