For those that say Lin was picked up due to being Asian, bull.
And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who would attempt to poison and destroy my brothers. And you will know my name is Monta Ellis when I lay my vengeance upon thee.
ooo
them’s fightin’ words! though i would agree with you to some degree.

Wait, you agree with me only somewhat that Lin was picked up due to talent and not due to being Asian? So you think that he was partly picked up due to being Asian? That’s possible, I suppose. I just think he has potential and is a decent pick up.

Oops
Sorry, I should have clarified. I think it was def. a mix of intriguing skill set and of course marketing. And there’s nothing wrong with being picked up for marketing purposes, it’s part of the nature of the business. a lot of players are drafted in part for marketing purposes regardless of their race or they end up being marketed in the future somehow (this last comment wasn’t necessarily directed at you but a general comment to the public of gsom). i do believe that lin is just as deserving as any other player in the d-league for a chance with the warriors. but i think it was very smart (though not keith smart) that they picked him up if it was, in part, for marketing purposes. fans love him and the cohan-era was not very nice to the fans. was this the best way to excite and intrigue fans of the new ownership? maybe not the best way, but I appreciate the effort and see huge possibilities for financial and actual on-court success if Lin works hard (which he looks to be) and the Warriors recognize this and trust him in the near and far future!
Is that Patrick O’Bryant right next to him in that picture? Heh.

I want him to be a PG, not a SG like Monta. He averages 3.7 assists and 3.3 turnovers a game. Though in his last three games he’s averaged 5.3 assists and 3 turnovers a game. It’s getting better, but it’s not good enough just yet.
