Watching the Spurs play the other night, I was surprised at how little use they seem to find for Tiago Splitter. the guy is a hard nosed workhorse at the 4/5 position, with plenty of skills. its just that the Spurs are deep, and Splitter has largely fallen through the cracks in the rotation.
So, I was imagining that they might be interested in a Splitter for BWright swap, straight up. Wright offers certain things that the Spurs could use (a big man who can really get up and down the court) while also knocking close to 4 million off the books for next year. between Duncan, Blair, McDyess and Bonner, they don't really have any 4s that can run. additionally, they're heavily into the luxury tax, and with their bigs all under contract for a while still, the Spurs would remain solid up front without Splitter next year.
from the Warriors perspective, I think this is a no-brainer, which is what worries me. I guess I'll get laughed down for proposing another one-sided affair. but it seems at least possible that the Spurs would listen, and the warriors would add a skilled grinder up front, while the Spurs would add a guy who might really blossom with a change of scenery, medical staff and system.....
what do y'all think?
