held hostage by potential
what an unfortunate position for the blazers
Goal: 8 seed!
This should motivate Lacob and Riley to make a trade for Nene, Kaman, or Jordan. Those are our best shots at a center imo.
yes to Nene
I doubt Jordan will be available
But I would take Nene for sure. Not the ideal solution for us at C, since we need a ferocious rim-protector. But if those are the options…

No need to trade for Jordan. If the Clippers resign him, they won’t have money for Eric Gordon extension. Make him a restricted FA offer.
i wanted him in that draft
good thing we got AR? i guess he netted us david lee. lets hope that turns out well…

He was a second rounder
He’ll be a unrestricted free agent.
How much you think a guy like Jordan will demand? 9-10 million maybe?

Probably more like 7-8, but that's a guess. He would need a larger body of work to get that much money I think.
Young centers who show flashes of star power will get big deals
Full MLE might be needed to get him

Probably more.

Uh
way more than full MLE. Full MLE is nothing.
That third guitar note you played just now was perfect, dogg. Maybe play it again a little later alright.

Whats the full MLE?
Something like 35 mil?

ANY chance we can get Perkins in the off-season?
PFortyy :)
'11 Champs!
Perkins is so much better than Jordan it's not even funny.
It’s like comparing Howard and prime Zo.
Not sure he is
Especially after the acl tear.
I'm not sure he'd want to come here, though.

Jordan is on the upswing, though.
And he has played really well this year.

I'd go after Oden.

I think I'd rather have Deandre Jordan than Marc Gasol these days
I love Gasol’s game, but Jordans athleticism and defense will be more useful to us next to DLee.
I would much rather pay Jordan, Gasol or Nene over oden
You can’t look past injury risks.
+1
Oden on a 1 year deal with a team option for a 2nd for cheap

You'd probably have to add a lot of incentives.

So does This mean We cant get oden This offseason?
Or can We put more money on the líne?

Depends if we trade our expirings for a guy with a long term deal
If we do we can offer the MLE to him. It’d be a bad idea to give him more than half the MLE though

If we keep our expirings and they make the qualifying offer he'd take up all our cap space and we couldn't get anyone else
But then again we don’t care about the luxury tax so money won’t matter to us

Larry Riley is gonna have to find a 5 and a 3 in order for me to consider it a successfull offseason. 1 can come from the draft.
We likely wont have a draft pick
I expect a 3 at the deadline and a 5 in free agency, I’m still in full support of a 1 year rent a center for 10 mil then trading Beans for Jamison so we will have enough money to make an offer to Dwight or CP3

The Warriors don’t have that kind of money to throw at free agents. Even if they don’t trade the expirings.
I can’t imagine the Cavs wanting Andris. They already have Hickson and Varejao. They already don’t have any offensive weapons.
What does Dre do for the Cavs right now though?
It just ties up their cap. I bet if they get offered Dre or expirings for Jamison, they’d gladly go the exp route.

I don’t think so. Next year they have a lot of money coming off the books. They will have significant cap space for the 2012-2013 season. (they have 27 million commited to 5 players and it could be less because Gibson’s contract in not guaranteed.)
The Cavs really have no reason to dump Jamison’s salary this year, when they could get something of greater value next year.
The league is also flooded with expirings right now.
Also, I doubt they get a star with that amazing TPE they received. Or Jamison’s contract because I think they may get a solid player in return, but certainly not a star with no other assets added and the Cavs are not in a situation to be hitching any kind of picks to outgoing trades.
"I thought it was going in," Warriors center Chris Hunter said. "It looked like the invisible man tipped it away at the last second."
That was a horribly thought out second sentence.
I don’t think with Jamison’s expiring alone nets them a star player. At best a productive player on a downward trending team. I also don’t think they’re in a position to be adding incentives to any outgoing deals. Biedrins is the type of guy they should target after getting a real deal player to surround him with talent.

My point is they don’t need to trade to get a star player. They could just wait it out and see what happens with the enormous amount of cap space they will have in two years.
Why trade for Biedrins now before they have a chance to make other moves later? Also would Cavaliers want to tie up 17 million to Varajeo and Biedrins? I don’t think so.
I did know Jordan was going to be unrestricted
gentlemen, we have our target!
I kinda like Chandler too, but he seems a little overpaid.
but there are more options out there than I thought…

Hopefully this will put a kibosh to all the hopes that we can get a player who may never play ...
… for a reasonable amount of money.
Any chance we could go for Gortat in a trade? I think he could be a quality starting center if beans doesn’t start picking up the slack. Plus he isn’t even PHX’s starting center at the moment so he might be available.
He plays a lot there though
They just got him for JRich, he’s not going anywhere

i'm probably gonna get a lot of hate for this
Assuming he is cleared to and wants to play, I would do Yao Ming for 2 yrs/6-8 million, even if its just a jeremy lin-ish publicity move.
Or Oden for 2 yrs/12 mil.
I would do long-term reasonable money deals with Jordan or Gasol. Maybe Nene too but I’m concerned about the injury history.
