Here's my wish list then argument for it:
- Trade Ellis or Curry soon
- Fire Riley and Rowell (clean house sooner rather than later)
- Fire coach smart
Trading either Curry or Ellis and complimenting whoever stays with a more balanced backcourt mate such as Andre Iguodala. The trade value for Curry or Ellis is high now and I don't see it getting higher, especially for Ellis so obviously my preference is to trade Ellis as I see Curry as a player who is easier to build around offering more flexibility and potential upside. This change alone would make a significant change in the dynamics of our backcourt. I also can't help but think about Curry's play when Ellis was not around last year and I wonder how much that should be attributed to Don Nelson's presence or just the simple absence of a volume shooter in Ellis. I'm not going to put up some ridiculous trade machine link for a trade that is highly unlikely but I have seen a few that seem plausible.
As long as Riley, Rowell remain there's a too much of a tie to the Cohan era I'd like to see them dismissed sooner rather than later besides Riley has done little to deserve any further time here. Drafting Udoh over Monroe really bothered me and I don't know whom to lay blame on for this more than Riley.
Keith Smart is looking for wins more than developing players (and it's still not working) with his questionable approach to rotations, lack of minutes for Udoh and other players that have been riding the bench all season long. This team is not going to the playoffs! Act accordingly and develop the young players! Give B Wright and Udoh more minutes even if they flail somewhat.
Bottom line is I'd be happy and could take solace in some changes around the Warriors front office and one significant trade in the backcourt. Does that solve everything? Hell no but it's a start. I also wonder if we still had Turiaf how things would be at this point in the season with an enforcer in the middle. I miss you Ronny!
