Tickets supposed to go on sale later this week.

The SJ Event Center only holds 4,600 for a basketball event...

Still the We Believe team w/o Baron? link

Tickets go on sale Monday, the 17th according to ticketmaster. Guess not!
Ticketmaster

The game is going to be on November 5th. I hope that means Baron can make it now. Tickets supposedly going on sale today at 12PM. We'll see if that holds. It didn't...they go on sale Friday, the 21st @ 12PM now.

From Steinmentz - "At last count, expected to play were: Stephen Curry, Charlie Bell, Dorell Wright, Jeremy Lin, Jeremy Tyler, Jason Richardson, Kelenna Azubuike, Matt Barnes and Anthony Morrow.
Baron Davis wrote on Twitter he wasn’t involved in the game, and it’s unknown about players such as Monta Ellis, Stephen Jackson and David Lee." - link

I’m gonna buy tix once they go on sale. Can’t wait!

Morrow’s confirmed, but he was neither on We Believe nor is he on the current squad? It’d be cool to see him play with these guys, but his participation seems a bit out of place. Also good to see that Buike’s knees are back in good health, or at least well enough to play these pickup games.

by WYK on Oct 13, 2011 10:35 AM PDT reply actions

Supposedly they might get former warriors from neither team to fill out the rosters. I heard guys like Jamal Crawford, Arenas, and Diogu may be playing.

by bObaBaLLa on Oct 13, 2011 10:39 AM PDT up reply actions

Awesome. With those guys playing with Baron, Monta, and StackJack, this game will be loaded with so much low efficiency offense that it’ll look like both sides are playing “good” D.

by WYK on Oct 13, 2011 10:45 AM PDT up reply actions

Baron is supposedly not gonna be playing though. Hopefully the guys can convince him to play, unless he has a prior engagement.

BD not involved in ‘We Believe’ charity game

This is a reply to bObaBaLLa.

I want to see Sarunas Jasikevicius cheering on the sidelines!

by disguy on Oct 13, 2011 10:42 AM PDT up reply actions

Forget Jasikevicius… How about Calbert Cheaney or Adonal Foyle?

by WYK on Oct 13, 2011 10:48 AM PDT up reply actions

TV or Web Broadcasting please?

I’m in SO Cal, help! Would be sweet if this was to be filmed somehow or even broadcasted. I think NBA tv or espn would be smart to pick this up.

by ef_werd on Oct 13, 2011 11:22 AM PDT reply actions

NBAtv is not happening lol

pretty sure ESPN has no interest in jeopardizing its standing with the owners by broadcasting this game. same goes for even comcast. hard to imagine it making it to any major channel that’s ever broadcast basketball. it would be cool though. hopefully it will be broadcasted online somewhere.

Brownie13's right

Here’s an update from Matt when someone asked him about it:

Would CSN be able to telecast the charity game or is there some type of lockout rules against it? –Daniel, Livermore, Calif.

I talked to Ted Griggs, the main man here at Comcast SportsNet Bay Area, and he said he believes — without checking, mind you — that the network could broadcast the game if it wanted. Now, whether it wants to is another story. At this point it doesn’t appear CSN Bay Area wants to carry the game, although it has not been ruled entirely out. But even if CSN Bay Area wanted to do that game, it would likely start a back and forth with the Warriors and the league that might end with a "no-go" on broadcasting it. – Matt S.

My best advice

Move to the bay area ASAP

Ticket Details haven’t been released yet. We’ll probably know early next week.

I wanna go

Where can you get tickets?
How much?

A We Believe team without Baron?

I hope he plays, Matt Barnes is tryin to convince him. Not sure which team ill root for to be honest.. BD and JRich are my favourite Warriors.

I agree, we need Baron

His tweet about not being involved in it came off kind of bad though. He doesn’t seem interested in coming back to the bay…

"FYI, I have no involvement in this Bay Area game I’m hearing about," Davis wrote. "I’ve heard my name mentioned but I am NOT involved."

Sounds like they couldn't pay him enough

I think he’s just busy with his strenuous offseason training program of eating cakes and pies while producing D grade movies.

by ERock386 on Oct 14, 2011 12:05 AM PDT up reply actions

Right?

I was just gonna say, why would this guy need money? You would think that he left on good terms, and he was thankful playing in the Bay, which revived his career. Even after all the stuff that happened afterward, people here still appreciate what he did for the franchise.

Hopefully he realizes it’s for a good cause.

It smells like hope in this mug

I bet BD is 20-30 lbs overweight and knows he will embarrass himself

Lets be honest…. It’s Baron.

Gosh, one of the biggest wastes of talent over the last decade. All-star level when motivated.

if the current squad loses.......

than we are all going to be pretty pissed at mullin……..

It's lonely being the only Warriors fan at UMass :(

by j-spliff415 on Oct 13, 2011 4:07 PM PDT reply actions

mad at Mullin? i thought it was a combination of Rowell/Nelson/Cohan who messed up the We Believe team

by DJxREMARKABLE on Oct 13, 2011 4:54 PM PDT up reply actions

Cohan mostly

Wanted JRich’s contract gone, or else we couldn’t keep monta/Biedrins. Wouldn’t sign off on Baron Davis extension. From their it snowballed. Rowell was just his hatchet man.

Although, i guess hindsight shows it was mostly good decision, still….

by tafkasam on Oct 13, 2011 9:05 PM PDT up reply actions

Riight...

Yeah, Brandon Wright worked out really well for us. And we used that trade exception for.. lining Cohan’s pockets. It was not a good decision.

Baron has proven that he will play hard if there’s something to play for. He lost his motivation when he signed with the Clippers only to see Brand leave.

The trade was used to bring in a lanky tweener, the first of three in a row. Not only was devloping a SF a low priority for the Warriors at the time, but even without J-Rich, and with Barnes’s game being off from the passing of his grandmother, the team was very competitive. Cohan and Rowell proved their priorities by not using the exception and then kicking Baron out.

If you’re going to make the argument of Baron not playing up to expectations meaning that breaking up We Believe was the right move, then you also have to consider that Wright did NOTHING, and Biedrins has unfortunately also been a disappointment – meaning that those were not the right moves to be made.

No updates yet..

As of October 17th at 10:15, nothing about when tickets go on sale, but there is a link on ticketmaster. Tickets look to be between $20-$100, but the on sale date is greyed out..

I guess this isn’t important enough to make the main article section?

it was supposed to go on sale at 10:00am...

kinda sucks it hasn’t yet

ugh..

Plus $10 in ticketmaster fees. Seriously, even for charity events those assholes have to charge a third of the ticket price? What service do they provide? They host a damn website. I would rather drive and spend that money on gas then give it to Ticketmaster.

by Ice Watter In His Veins! on Oct 17, 2011 11:31 AM PDT reply actions

Hmm

I dunno why they didn’t go on sale this morning.

This is what it looked like Friday night.

That info was gone as of last night..

Hurry Up!!!

I want seats! And I am annoyed TicketMaster is charging so much without providing any updates!

by ferask1 on Oct 17, 2011 1:00 PM PDT reply actions

I called the Event Center Box Office

They said that the event is happening, but they’re still finalizing ticket stuff. There should be some sort of update on Ticketmaster before tickets go on sale. You can go to the box office to avoid the $10 “convenience” charge.

by Ice Watter In His Veins! on Oct 17, 2011 2:13 PM PDT reply actions

You have to physically go there

They don’t do over the phone ticket sales. There was something about faxing, but that seems like a major hassel and I’m not sure that applies to normal ticket sales.

by Ice Watter In His Veins! on Oct 17, 2011 2:36 PM PDT up reply actions

Oh crap, they did!!

Ticket sales are at 12PM now!

This is annoying…I’m going to be at lunch…

by disguy on Oct 19, 2011 10:01 AM PDT up reply actions

Where are you seeing this?

Yeah, I just called Ticketmaster.. they said it got postponed, but they haven’t updated the website yet. Where do you see that ticket sales are at 12?

by Ice Watter In His Veins! on Oct 19, 2011 10:19 AM PDT reply actions

Just called the box office

You’re right. I’m thinking of driving to the box office now.

by Ice Watter In His Veins! on Oct 19, 2011 10:20 AM PDT reply actions

Ticketmaster now says tix don’t go on sale to general public until noon, Friday the 21st. WTF is up with them…this is the 3rd time they changed it today!

by bObaBaLLa on Oct 19, 2011 11:25 AM PDT reply actions

lol man

I won’t believe them until I see it actually on sale

by disguy on Oct 19, 2011 11:29 AM PDT up reply actions

Sooooo

Who thinks this event will get cancelled if the lockout gets lifted anytime soon?

by ferask1 on Oct 19, 2011 12:09 PM PDT reply actions

Why?

Is there a reason to think the lockout will get lifted anytime soon?

by Ice Watter In His Veins! on Oct 19, 2011 12:12 PM PDT up reply actions

Nope

But I’m just optimistic that they are actually sitting in a room for hours, not going on radio shows, and not storming off.

by ferask1 on Oct 19, 2011 1:04 PM PDT up reply actions

Yeah, having the mediator there will definitely keep them focused and on track at least.

Sounds like they still haven’t agreed on any of the big issues though, so I’m still afraid we’ll see more games getting cancelled soon =(

by bObaBaLLa on Oct 19, 2011 1:27 PM PDT up reply actions

Newest update

Tix will go on sale to the public at NOON on Friday, 10/21.

There will be 4 types of tickets:
$100 / $60 / $40 / $25

To buy tix, you have 3 options:
1) Buy in person directly at the box office there. No service charge.
2) Fax in your order. Service charge of $4 for the entire order (not per ticket). You won’t be able to select your seats though. You will be given the best available seats for whatever ticket price you choose.
3) Buy from Ticketmaster and pay the ~$10 service charge PER ticket

If you have questions, the number to the box office there is 408-924-6333

by bObaBaLLa on Oct 19, 2011 12:28 PM PDT reply actions

Forgot to mention earlier…

If you are faxing in your order and there are people standing in line at the box office, all the people physically there will have priority.

by bObaBaLLa on Oct 19, 2011 12:42 PM PDT up reply actions

Thanks for the info

I think I’m just going to take my chances buying them online.

by disguy on Oct 19, 2011 2:17 PM PDT up reply actions

service charge

The $10 service charge is actually for the cheap seats. If you go for the more expensive tickets, they’ll charge $16.

by Ice Watter In His Veins! on Oct 19, 2011 4:11 PM PDT up reply actions

Same here, i don’t work nor live near SJ area so will have to buy the tickets online. On the ticketmaster website, it only has the $100 and $25 tickets available?

J.

by sokuj00 on Oct 19, 2011 2:27 PM PDT reply actions

yeah....WTF

Postponed ’til Monday at noon now. They need to stop doing this. This makes it hard for anyone that plans to go buy the tix there in person.
