With the lockout basically over, here's a list of things that need to be done
- Sign All Rookies
- Dump Biedrins Somehow
- Everyone flies into town early for additional training
- Put the Amnesty Clause to GREAT use
- Any other suggestions?!

That is the least of their worries right now.
I mean, if that deal is still on the table you have to do it for Curry’s sake.
Outside of Nene, Gasol, & Chandler who else is there?
It wouldn’t make any sense to go after Deaundre Jordan since Jeremy Tyler will possibly be the same thing if not better.
Who knows what Jeremy Tyler is right now tho. You gotta go after DJ when Biedrins is your starting C. You dont pass on DJ for any second round rookie.
A second round rookie. But were talking about what he is now. When JT proves himself then we could move DJ. The alternative is putting your chips behind Biedrins and Tyler.
So if we spend $7 million on DJ with Biedrins already due $9million
Do you really think that would be money well spent especially if DJ has not improved since the lockout?
If Tyler turns out to be anything
DJ would be very tradeable on 7 mil a year.
Or god forbid, we have a big man surplus :)

Yeah because all of our bigs always do well here.
I’d rather have a plethora of bigs to choose from instead of just our starters. And it’s not like Tyler has done a damn thing in the league yet either.

5 or 6 million for a starting YOUNG nba Center is not overpaying to me. Im hearing the Rockets are going to go hard after DJ and Nene and TC. I think they will land 1 of those guys.
Yeah I could live with this signing. At least we get more depth for the C position.
While not our ideal fit, DJ on the right amount can be a good signing if he gets better defensively. I’d love to have Malone working with some talented bigmen.
I’d prefer Nene or Chandler, but DJ is a good plan c. But only if we’re just scratching at the surface of his learning curve, and right now who knows what his mentality is like.

Yeah,
I want to know what he’s looking like and making sure he hasn’t gone Oliver Miller on anyone. It seems like Eric Gordon is the only player from that team to have been in the spotlight this entire lockout.
I read something last week saying DJ has some memory loss issues.

Re: plethora of bigs
I’m not so sure that this isn’t a perfect time to tank…get rid of Beidrens, period.
If we can land a good center, fine, let’s go Dubs…but if not, ditch Beans, toss some rookies in, and pray for a top 7 draft slot.
Teams in our range that could easily be better like the Kings and Clipps might make it pretty easy for the Dubs to suck hard enough to keep our pick.
Although, it is certainly possible that dropping Beans off the roster (even without adding a replacement) makes the team better

If we can get Nene...
Amnesty Biedrins, why do we need him if we’ve got Nene? Addition by subtraction to get his weak psyche out of the locker room.

I still feel there's a team who will be in panic with a short off-season and will take Biedrins off our hands.
Possibly a team that loses one of the three bigs I mention above.
Thats too much money to just give away. Try to trade him 1st. Id take a expiring and a second round pick for him.
Yep
Some team will take him in trade for sure. We may not get much back, but no need to waste our amnesty on him

As much as I want to amensty Biedrins, I have to agree (sigh)
The hope is, if Biedrins shows any return to form, on a 2.5 and subtracting year deal, he coudl garner value.
My fear is he shows a nice 10 game stretch and management wants to keep him. I don’t want to risk the chance he falls back into habits and minute we get a decent offer, we take it.
I like Steinmetz' idea about saving the Amnesty.
Unless we have a Freakin’ A plan to get a center, a wing, and a lot more depth all in one offseason.
Save the amnesty for a later time.

Save it for what? Its time to make a splash. No way we can get a Center and Battier with our current cap space. Get Charlie Bell’s contract off the books and give MJ the best roster possible for his 1st season.
Amnestying Bell would give us enough for DJ, but would it be enough for Nene or Chandler?

I agree. Save it so we can be active in the 2013 offseason. This year’s crop of talent looks pretty weak.

I want a 2012 1st round draft pick!!
"I seldom post but I have to say alot of ppl do hate on J-Ridah. All he has ever done is give us inside information. I know I may not like what he said about the nightlife and how it effects free agency but after meeting Dorell Wright after the we believe game I have to admit he was right. Every player there was asking where the club was. I think J-Ridah is the best poster on this board and he makes this place interesting during the lockout. He should be a administrator here or start his own site in which I would join." J-RIDAH on J-RIDAH
Why isn’t anyone mentioning Aaron Gray?? He played tough for the Hornets during the post season and would be a nice additional big man. Plus he played for Coach Malone last season. I don’t see the need for many roster moves other than adding a good backup C

I like the idea of being patient with our amnesty option or using it now in conjunction with signing/trading for a good center.
It would be cool if amnesty option could be included in a trade.
