Magic pay Big Baby 4 years/26 mil
Is Otis Smith the worst GM in the NBA?

Ryan Rusillo agrees.
Now the Q is, how can the Warriors take advantage of him?

Given the wisdom of our other moves this offseason, I’m surprised we didn’t get in on the bidding for Big Baby.
Is Otis Smith the worst GM in the NBA?
Glass houses, stones, etc. ;-)
There will be no extra point!
I should have clarified
They traded Bass’s 2 years/8 mil for Big Baby’s 4 years/26.5 mil
Yeah, that is probably dumber than anything we’ve done this offseason. Though perhaps not quite as dumb as the Rashard Lewis contract…

Smith must be delusional
how is this supposed to convince Howard to stick around?

Lewis' contract wasn't that bad.
He’s an excellent player who helped them get within two games of a title.

I know his RAPM is amazing but...do you really think he's worth the max for 7 years?

I will say that he's earned his money a lot more than Rudy Gay, Joe Johnson, Arenas, Carmelo, Amare did/will.
Otis Smith most certainly overpaid for him (and I don’t think anyone else was going to give him that much money but I’m not privy to that information, obviously), but given the make-up of the Magic, Lewis’ skillset, and the fact that he was a big part of what turned them into perennial title contenders, I think it’s far from a faux pas.

Really?
Lewis is a good player. But 6years, 118 million!?
I didn't say it wasn't bad, I said it wasn't /that/ bad.
Otis has done a lot dumber things (trading a productive player with a giant contract for an unproductive one with an even giant-er contract, mainly).

Or the Hedo trade. The Hedo trade is still the most harmful (since the amnesty claused saved them from Arenas).

I'm not justifying Lewis' contract by saying Otis has done worse.
I’m justifying Lewis’ contract by saying that a lot less productive players get max contracts, thus the conclusion that Otis has done worse (as in things that did not in any way help his team and in fact made them actively worse, something not true of Rashard Lewis).

He's going to Disney World!
He gonna ride the kiddie rides!
Smith isn’t the worst, but he is definitely up (or down?) there. If he doesn’t trade Howard to the Lakers, I will consider him one of the best.
