We still have Curry
Ok, so I could probably not have thought of a player I would want to have less than Kwame Brown. We obviously got the shit end of the poostick (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6mOhI3k3JPI) on our center position. McGuire is whatever—seems like he can play defense, come off the bench, whatever. Nothing exciting.
Yes, it's another Warriors offseason.
But then I remembered: we still have Curry. As shitty as all the rest of it is, as weirdly constructed as our roster is, as disappointing as this offseason has been—we still have Curry. And he is the best young player our Ws have had in a LONG time. So we didn't do much to improve, but dammit, I'm excited for year three of Curry, and I'm glad we didn't trade him to rent CP3 for a year.
Like this dude says: http://www.magicbasketball.net/2011/12/15/player-to-watch-stephen-curry/#more-9535

If Nellie coached 1 more year
Curry would have been an all-star last year.
Jackson will restore order in the Curry/Ellis back court – and keep Ellis playing off the ball.
I predict by the end of January, Curry’s number will be:
18ppg
10apg
5rpg
2spg
3topg
My edit:
-more ppg (between 20-25)
-fewer apg (between 7-9)
Scoring per game will increase as a result of taking more shots coupled with more consistent shooting.
I don’t expect his assists per game to improve too much because he still doesn’t have the inside finisher(s) we were hoping to get this offseason. Assists will increase from last season as a result of having the ball more to create for others and committing less turnovers.

That's absurdly high
I love Steph, but double digit assist numbers are much harder to come by than people think.

paritculary when you don't have
either a marksmen shooter on the perimeter (other than yourself) or a big man who you can dump it into and flat out score…
The Warriors were one of the best 3pt shooting teams

in % or # of 3's made?
If it is % that is truly amazing…
…do you feel that is an aberration partly due to quality of shots taken, or do you think that it was something likely to be duplicated given that we have the same perimeter scorers (except for Williams)?
San Antonio .397, Golden State .392.
What team were you watching? The Warriors rain in 3s.

By Synergy PPP, Reggie was our most efficient 3P shooter last year. We still have Dorell and Curry and maybe Klay works out, but he was a big part of our success in that department.
I heard he doesn't like music.

Reggie was relatively low volume.
So didn’t factor in so much. Dorell, Curry, and Monta each attempted and made more than him.

If Nellie coached 1 more year...
…Curry may very well have been an All-Star but the franchise would not be moving forward. Nellie stole $$$ his last few years.
In the exception of Dwight Howard
All the top 10 players in the NBA are comfortably situated in good teams with good teamates that they like. Our hope now is either for Curry to become elite or luck out in the draft which is a long shot since we don’t even have any draft picks

STAT lines im expecting
Curry – 20-22 ppg, 8 asst, 4 rebounds, 2.5 TOs
Monta – 20-22 ppg, 5 asst, 5 rebounds, 48% fg shooting
DWright – 13-15 ppg, 3 asst, 7-8 rebds, 42-45% 3 pt fg shooting
David Lee – 15-17 ppg, 4 asst, 10-12 rebds, 50+% fg shooting
Beans – 8-10 ppg, 11-13 rebounds, 2.5 blocks, 60% FTs
This sounds a little too positive
Monta and DWright’s rebounding numbers probably wont reach these levels, the same with Lee’s assist numbers. But anything close to this would really make this team competitive.

expecting
Or wishing for?
A Sonics fan without a team... but after 7 seasons now of GS Warriors season tickets have convinced me to adopt the boys from Oakland.
Both..haha
in order for this team to be competitive and improve overall, this is what im hoping from them..tried to be realistic as well..maybe biedrens block average is a tad high but 1.5-2 would be good if they play better defense.

The Beans block stat seems a bit high

Monta’s rebounds are too high. Curry is a straight up better rebounder than him/
I heard he doesn't like music.
by Reverend_Randy on Dec 18, 2011 2:55 PM PST up reply actions
ok maybe 4 rebounds..
Monta best year in 07-08, he averaged 5 rebounds so its not far fetched and also im basing this on what they need to do in order to be successful.

We got a Curry for 2-3 years and he is an above averge point guard in his young 20’s. Yay
As prestly constructed not too much too get excited about, other than the fact that are cap isnt too cooked and we have a reasonable amount of trade pieces. If and when that ‘big move’ comes than we can see what the future holds. A Curry/Ellis/Lee trio is a 35 win team in an optimal scenario.
Chris Petersen is in the dictionary next to the word AWESOME.

Not if they play D...
And Wright continues to shoot the 3 well.
But they don’t play D, and Monta and Lee are both seasoned vets. Old dogs/new tricks, ya know?

Yeah, he’s really good at offense.
