Chris Wright
First of all let me admit that i don't follow the NBA and know very little about Golden State (other than I think they are in California - based on your logo). But am a huge fan of the Dayton Flyers. I saw recently that Chris Wright (from UD) appearntly appears to have made your roster, so i just wanted you to know what to expect from him.
1) He's an insane athlete.
Regardless of who we played (UNC, Pitt, Ohio St, etc...) he was usually the best athlete on the court.
He always jumped for our "jump balls" to start the game and probably won 98% of them.
He lives above the rim, literally with his jumping ability and should be your candidate for any dunking contests.
He scored a lot of fast break points - once he gets moving towards the basket it takes a lot to keep him from putting it in.
2) He's a very hard working / hustle guy
Despite not being the tallest guy on the court, he is a very good rebounder.
He's also very good at blocking shots (because of his athleticism)
3) He's a fairly humble player
He's from the Dayton area and had offers to go just about anywhere, but chose to stay local, close to home.
He was a very unselfish player on the court, often willing to defer to the hot shooter, or guys who had better shots.
Being local, and our best candidate to reach the NBA in a decade, he never came across as an arrogant or selfish player.
What he is not:
1) He is not a shooter.
He will probably only be a 25% 3pt guy and only a 65% FT guy.
His 2pt shotting will be around 50+% but mainly becuase of dunks.
He started to develop a mid-range jumper later in college, but it's not very polished yet.
2) He is not an elite defender.
His hustle and athletic ability make him good at getting rebounds, blocking shots, and converting turnovers into fast break points. But he does get beaten by quick defenders who can get around him.
Summary
Since he was an undrafted free agent and isn't a great shooter, i'm assuming that he's probably going to be a 2nd or 3rd string forward for you guys and may only get 3~5 mintues a game. I don't know what kind of offense/defense you play, but he will do best in a high-energy or high-intensity offense and defense. I'm assuming he will probably be guy who subs in here and there to bring some energy to the court.
He has to work on his shooting and one on one defense before he can become a starter - as those are the attributes that likely kept him from being drafted. Although on pure athletecism, he was one of the elite athletes in the draft last year.
Hopefully he can stick on the roster and be a contributer for years to come, and i can become the newest Golden State fan...

thanks for the insight
there were a couple times in the preseason games where i was taken back by how explosive he was off of the ground. I was like “who the hell is that!?!?” He’s Chris Wright, our other Wright Wing

that's why he was called the Wright Flyer at UD
Dayton is the home of the Wright Bro’s, and their airplane was called the Wright Flyer, and well Chris Wright can just about fly above the rim….so the name made sense.
apparently he showed it off in your preseason game.
hahaha
thats so funny my brother we’re joking around and came up with “the Wright Brothers” since we now have D.Wright and C. Wright.

I hope he can develop a reliable jumpshot, maybe in the D-League is best, so he can make it in this league.
@gswaficionado & gswaficionado.tumblr
yeah, when i saw he didn't get drafted i was hoping he's get into the D-league
He has all the physical tools to dominate, but not the full skills yet.
He went to the pre-draft workouts after his Jr year to contemplate entering the draft. He was basically told to work on the shooting & 1-on-1 defense. He made a noticable improvement his Sr. season, but could probably use 1 more year before he could become a consistent player for an NBA level team.
