Start Charles Jenkins!

Tonight is the perfect night to start Charles Jenkins. Curry is clearly not ready with the ankle issues. Ish Smith doesn't have the handles to start. With Jenkins, you get a big PG who can defend Rose. Plus he has shown so far to be a pretty good passer who can also get to the rim.If you want to get Curry some minutes, bring him in when Rose subs out. He's not going to be able to guard Rose and contribute offensively on a tender ankle. I thought the job Coach Jackson did with the frontcourt minutes was good, just need to get better contributions from the guards.

I have to say that I would like to see Jenkins getting some minutes tonight.

Good idea.

But I don’t know anyone can “defend” Rose

Agreed,

But I rather a stronger PG try than Curry

Curry will definitely twist that ankle if he has to guard Rose a lot.

I would have Monta on him just because of that.

Am I the only one who, when he hears "Coach Jackson" still thinks of Phil?

Yeah, Monta may have only played that much because of Curry's ailment.

Or, Coach Jackson…

Ish looked like he had good control of the ball yesterday, super fast, and hit a few jumpers. He does seem like a little skinny, bug on the court though. I’m not sure if we should just throw Jenkins in as a starter just yet, but I have faith in whatever Mark Jackson decides to do.

Cause of 1st Loss

IMO, the Warriors lost to the Clippers due to two main reasons: 1 – Curry and Monta had a pretty bad shooting night. And 2 – Untimely Jackson’s substitutions kept the Warriors from getting momentum and building a good lead at times during the game.

On the good side, the bigs did good, oposite of last year’s problems.

by Roan on Dec 26, 2011 12:41 PM PST reply actions

Honestly, the reason for the Warriors losing that I saw – the Clippers, and especially Chris Paul, are just more talented.

yup

but he’s getting better at…against the Bulls he only had one bad substitution play when he Dorrell and 4 bench players to start the 4th…the Bulls got it down to 13 with 9 or 10 to go…and that’s too close against the Bulls…ask the fakers…but he didn’t let that lineup go further…which was a good realization…the thing to pay attention to is WHAT MESS-UPS DOES HE REPEAT…he can’t be stubborn…like nellie or smart…he can’t play with the rotations all damn season…but I think he’s gonna figure it out quick…for whatever reason he’s already decided that Jenkins isn’t in it yet…for whatever reason he hasn’t changed that course…

I'd love to see more Jenkins...

… but he’s not going to start. I didn’t like Ish in the preseason game, but last night he was fine. He’s not known for his shooting though, so I’m not sure how often last night’s production will show itself.

I’m assuming Monta is going to guard DRose tonight, but I’d like to see Rush and/or McGuire spend significant time on him as stoppers…. Rose can dribble around anyone, but at least those guys seem to know what they’re doing on the Defensive end.

Curry's ankles weren't the reason why he was bad yesterday

but I agree that Jenkins should get more PT tonight. I would like to see Monta get more rest as well, and have the other guards play the 2 spot, he played way too many minutes last night.

It's gonna be tough to win tonight.

Curry with a bad ankle on a back to back, Monta going through a lot of off-court distractions…

I think we need to rely on Lee again for a chance

boozer plays no defense..so Lee needs to take advantage of this.

Noah looked really bad against the lakers. The guy needs to stop smoking weed and get into shape. You bigs might have to come up big to win this one.

Jenkins hasn’t shown anything yet. Dude has 1 minute of garbage time in his NBA career.

Somehoow Ish slipped into the backup pg role at the last minute.

Both of these guys are mysteries as of yet, but Ish getting more minutes than Jenkins to begin the season tells us a little. A quick look at youtube shows why someone would want to give a look at him. We haven’t had a player that looks as comfortable handling the ball since BD. Whether that translates to anything of value remains to be seen.

Reality Check.

Turned out quite differently. Steph not only gave the best performance offensively, but defensively too (maybe Rush also). Great Win! Now lets tape that ankle even tighter.

by fasupala on Dec 26, 2011 10:20 PM PST reply actions

i see why

Jenkins isn’t getting much playing time. In the game against the knicks, he got a few minutes and looked very tentative bringing the ball up and initiating the offense.

training wheels for now it seems…
