After the game life matters.

No one denies this

I legitimately posted this because I thought people might be interested.

Someone go give Chandler a hard time about choosing NY over GSW

by tafkasam on Dec 27, 2011 11:16 AM PST up reply actions

Naw taf, alot of ppl denied this. They called me crazy for saying players want to go to clubs after the game and not go home. They said I was wrong for saying they even had the time to party during the season. A article about the lack of nightlife being the reason the dubs cant attract free agents gets written in the San Fran chronicle
http://articles.sfgate.com/2011-12-15/sports/30519282_1_joe-lacob-baron-davis-warriors/2
and sudden everybody ignores it (well most ppl did). Like I always said, in time everytime will be revealed and I will be vindicated. Taf you were not 1 of the dudes with all of the nightlife jokes tho so this does not apply to you.

Anyway, i Find it interesting, this event being so openly promoted by Warriors..

Might be a response to that.

I don’t recall this stuff in the past. For beter or worse

Two exceptions are Dallas and New Jersey. Mark Cuban made the Mavs a destination team by pampering his players like crazy. The Nets’ new owner, Mikhail Prokhorov, is following the Cuban model, enticing players with his personal glamour and free-spending.

Which is what I want to see Warriors do. One thing I LOVED that Lacob said, “we want to treat our players first class”. That treatment + competing is a way to attract free agents. you won’t compete with Lakers/Knicks in terms of appeal, but you certainly can be in upper teir.

by tafkasam on Dec 27, 2011 12:03 PM PST up reply actions

that said,

See what I mean about SF?

SF won’t compete with La/NY. But SF certainly has potential to be more attractive destination than oakland.

It’s sad (as a guy brown and raised in the east bay). By 2020, oakland will have no teams. Probably sooner.

Its Black and White until I see Biedrins hosting a party at a hiphop club.

J-RIDAH doesn’t know what that means.

Doesn’t this kind of contradict what you’ve been saying all this time then? If there really was “no nightlife” out here, then we wouldn’t even see an event like this happening.

You need to stop and listen to what people have been saying. There are many, myself included, that agree with the other cities having a better nightlife. However, you make it sound like it’s the ONLY factor when it comes to choosing a destination during free agency or trades. That is where a lot of us disagree with you.

1st off I never said the Bay didnt have ANY hiphop clubs, I said the nightlife here sucked which it does, Secondly look at what the ppl think of the club Dorell will be at http://www.yelp.com/biz/mist-san-francisco there’s no way your getting Lebron or D-Wade to walk in there. 3rd I never said Nightlife is the only thing that matters, I said it beats whatever comes in second place to a free agent.

by J-RIDAH on Dec 27, 2011 5:22 PM PST up reply actions

If it sucks, then why even host an event like this…that’s all I’m saying.

Regarding your third point, I’m sure I can go look for some of your older posts where you are clearly saying it’s all that matters. I am not going to though because there is a lot of activity on this board. Whether you meant it literally is a different story. Why else would people be replying saying it’s not the only thing that matters?

Anyways, all I want to really say is that this is a messageboard. All we have to go by is what you type out, and when it’s in text, almost everything is taken literally. It’s hard to detect sarcasm, etc. Like what someone said in another thread, you start off with a hyperbole or make these broad generalizations. People start replying to you, and there’s so much back and forth because people are trying to correct your statement. For example, you went from saying DJ was the only reason they won on Sunday, to being the primary reason they won. Big difference.

I think most of us here can appreciate your input, but it’s just the way you present yourself that makes it hard to really value and respect what you have to say sometimes.

Wade, LEbron and Dorell were here-

when they came to bay last time. Night BEFORE game. I have friend who promotes there. Was there, almost all the heat and a good chunk of Dubs were there.

The organiztion welcomes this. They know im right about my diagnosis to the free agent plague.

by J-RIDAH on Dec 27, 2011 1:05 PM PST up reply actions

Besides, Dorell's not stupid

If he’s publically promoting, he knows he has to appear professional.

He can’t be falling over in public. His name is openly linked to this party.

by tafkasam on Dec 27, 2011 1:37 PM PST up reply actions

Athletes go clubbing for the women, not the booze. Its no coincedence that the places with the most beautifull women never have a hard time attracting free agents. Anywhere that has good weather and a abundance of hot chicks will always have a edge in free agency. Dont shoot the messenger ppl.
