Lakers Believed To Be Paul's New Favorite Landing Spot , but....
A source confirmed that talks between the Warriors and Hornets slowed down on Wednesday. While the Warriors can't offer as good of a chance to win as the Lakers and Clippers, Paul is said to have a lot of respect for new head coach Mark Jackson.

Geez
We cannot seriously let the Lakers get Paul, especially if it involves a package for Gasol (likely going to a 3rd team).
I can just see them going and turning Bynum into Howard.
Do the trade then
Just to block LA from turning into a super team
We’d be the trolls of the NBA ! Lol
RIP Al Davis
I'd doing the trade if we got Chandler
I am confident the combo of chandler/paul + our other 3 is a 2nd rd play off team with potential to go farther depending on team development or additional trades (like eventually trading monta or lee for an upgrade)
People forget, Paul/Chandler only had 1 healthy year- 07-08-
-They won 56 games
-Barely lost to spurs in 7 in conference semi’s
and that team featued David West (comparable ot Lee)
and 2 wings who were huge defensive liabilities (Peja and Mo P), neither of which had scoring impact Monta/Dorell can (granted Peja was/is a knock down shooter)
cmon thats 2007
remember baron davis in 2007? now whats he doin? . . . i know theyre different player but im just saying

baron was exiting his prime
paul was moving towards his prime. there is a difference
there IS a difference like i said
my point was that 2007 was a while ago and CP is now past his prime. it was before CP had his knee problems and before TC has his toe problems. now if this were the 08-09 season id say sign em up but we sign them both now and we are low seed playoff team at best until the team has to change again. we need someone going into their prime not someone coming out of it

Paul is 26
He’s fine.
New Orleans roster is nowhere near what it was in 2008.
Has Monta exited his prime too?
Paul is 26 with half of the cartilage missing from his knee.

I have no cartilage in my knee
I’m still an all-star performer at work
Not sure what you’re getting at… I wasn’t trolling you, just bringing up what seems like a valid point in the conversation. If you’re work is NBA point guard, then hello Chris Paul, will you please sign an extension with us? Since none of the other all star point guards are dealing with the same type of surgery, I can only assume that it’s you…

Haha
I will admit the knee is a worry. But I’m not a doctor, so I can only assume, if he checks out in an exam, he’ll be ok.
doc here
Knees are much less predictable than most other medical ailments, even with the best tests. (recall I am the one who cried loudly and early that Monta would be fine). There is no way to be sure Paul’s knee will hold up.
That said, if Paul did change his mind after we signed Chandler and agreed to an extend and sign, I’d let Curry go. It’d be worth the risk.

I think we’d be a 4-6 seed if we got both guys, and higher if we also turned Monta into Iggy.

I think with CP3, Monta's production was increase
And we could get better than Iguodala.
His defensive production would still be terrible.
Paul is 6’0" our height disadvantage actually gets worse. Sure Paul is a better defender than Curry, but Paul can’t guard good SGs, or at least I don’t think he can.

He’s actually guarded Wade and Kobe before. I don’t know how often he does, but I remember watching games and he would be out there guarding some tough wings. I don’t know the result of his defensive efforts against them, but it should turn out solid since he’s one of the best defensive guards in the NBA in general.
ugh damn clippers.
they need to trade for cp3 just so they can compete for the LA market. If CP3 goes to the Lakers, Clippers will always be in second place.
curry & iggy TEAM USA buddies.
if it is true...hmm
as a backup center…would be useful in those long stretch of games against bigs like la and boston and okc…

Maybe the Lakers would be in a better position with Paul, but Im not sure about the Clippers.

whoa
not sure how reliable this is…but damn, maybe I’ve been wrong about our new coach (I just kinda assumed everyone thought he was an ass)
