Is Dorell Wright a Golden State Building Block?

Hey GSoM family, As we all know we have a guy at small forward right now who has came on to the NBA scene this season for the Warriors after 6 seasons in Miami. You can really tell Dorell has worked hard to become a very good player and now that he has finally been giving the chance to play in Golden State, he is really showing everyone why Pat Riley drafted him straight out of high school and behind Stephen Curry has become one of my favorite players on the Warriors.

My question is do you guys think that Dorell Wright is a guy who we should build around? Now I know he is not a superstar or anything but I honestly believe that we should not be looking to trade this guy unless we are getting a big time type player back. If thats not the case Wright should stay in Golden State for a good part of the rest of his career. I thought he would be solid when we signed him back in the summer but I had no idea he would be as good as he's been this season. Dorell has arguably been our 2nd to 3rd best player for most of the season and has been shooting the 3 very well. But what he has shown the last 2 months or so is that he is not just a shooter. He has always been known as a pretty good defender but its the passing, rebounding, ball handling and leadership that has really made D.Wright a very good player for us and a huge steal for the production he gives us while having a very decent contract. When you think of the building blocks for the Dubs, the guys you think of are Stephen Curry, maybe Ekpe Udoh and guys like Monta Ellis and David Lee but shouldnt Dorell Wright be in that conversation as well? He's one of the only 2 way players on the team and he's been just as good as anybody on the team this season. At age 25 he is probably just starting to scratch the surface with his playing ability so with the many things he does well he has potential to become even better. He still needs to get better at shooting med range jumpshots and driving in and being more explosive going inside. He can do those things(not terrible) but he could stand to improve them a whole lot but if you think about it this is his 1st year playing this many mins a game so im sure once he's in his 3rd year with us he'll most likely be even more comfortable and an even better player. The most interesting thing is he is a very good starter for us, probably a top 10 small forward but what if we got an even better small forward. Moving Wright to the bench would make us alot deeper and an even better team. Fact is Dorell Wright is a very nice and versatile player and should still be improving. At 6'9 he has pretty good size at small forward to compliment our smallish backcourt. Dorell Wright with his play should be a top canidate for the Most Improved Player Award and a player the Warriors should be smart to hold on to for a very long time. What do you guys think?
