Warrior Wonder Standings (February)

February marked the first time since March of 2008 that the Warriors played a full month of basketball above .500.  They started the month 6-2, beating playoff contenders such as Chicago, Denver, Oklahoma City, and New Orleans, to get their overall record to within 3 games of .500 before the All-Star Break and smelling playoff contention.  After the break, however, the Warriors came out of the gate slowly and dropped their final three games of the month to Boston, Atlanta, and Minnesota.

Monta continued to lead the Warriors in scoring, averaging 23.9 points for the month.  In Utah, usually an impossible place for the Warriors to win, he scored 35 points on 16-25 shooting to lead the team to a pre-All Star break win.  Curry followed a great January with an efficient February in which he shot 54% from the field and 42% from 3's.  Udoh saw his minutes increase from 12 a game in December and January to 18 in February.  He responded with high's in virtually all statistical categories including a 16 point, 7 rebound effort in a blowout loss to Phoenix.  Lee struggled throughout much of the month but had a huge 23 and 19 effort in a big win against Oklahoma City.

Only one vote for Madison Bumgarner? I may have to remedy that in my next recap…

There will be no extra point!
