Obviously we're not making the playoffs.... use this to see our odds for each pick in the draft lottery.

Well, if we want a big man for cheap..

We definitely need Enes Kanter. He’s seriously a beast..

No. It’s lottery protected.

Here, I’ll simplify matters, since you’re not the only GSoM poster who has been confused about this in the last couple of days:

1. The Warriors are NOT making the playoffs this season.
2. Consequently, New Jersey does NOT get our pick in the upcoming draft.

There will be no extra point!

I'm still confused.

Will New Jersey get our pick the year after? Or are we done with the Marcus Williams trade after this draft.

no

it keeps going every year until like 2016 and then becomes 2 second rounders or something.

We lose our pick next year if it is not Top 7.

by Missing Barry on Mar 11, 2011 8:11 AM PST up reply actions

Right. I didn’t want to complicate matters.

For me, this means we should either (1) try to be really good next season, or (2) try to be really horrible. Since (2) is more of a sure bet, that would be my choice. Ship Monta, Biedrins and Lee for expiring contracts who are terrible at basketball. (And I mean, really terrible, ‘cos they’d have to be a downgrade from Monta, Biedrins and Lee). Start Udoh at C, LIn/Reggie at SG and Harrison Barnes (or Leonard or Jones or Vesely or whomever) at PF.

With only $15-20M in guaranteed contracts on the books in Summer of 2012, shoot for the Howard-Paul-Garnett trifecta. ;-)

There will be no extra point!

Sounds about right

Without needing to know anything about our season, our compitition, or our current roster, 11th pick just just sounds like a Warriors pick. Who gets that pick now? Utah?

ahaha!

nice!

anyone in the lottery (i.e. not in playoffs) has some sort of chance to win positions 1-3, after that it’s based on the regular season records.

we have a shot at the #1 pick if we get lucky

Chicago got lucky with d rose so why can’t we

I thought all Warrior fans were draftologists?!

Just kidding.

There’s several teams around the same record as us…if we can lose more than them the rest of the way, we could end up with around the 8th pick.

by Slightly Hyphy on Mar 10, 2011 7:00 PM PST reply actions

with the 11th pick of the draft...

the golden state warriors select…

Kyle Singler aka dunleavy 2.0!

Seriously, what would you do if that happens?

LeBron James? I'm the only Ty Crane.

I get the feeling we’re going foreign this year…

Same thing I did when the Raider picked DHB

Stare at my screen, drop my food, gaping mouth and just stare at the screen for an hour in disbelief

Eugene Munroe and Crabtree were still on the board. Aw geez! It’s OK, DHB may still turn out alright – year 3 is a big year for wide receivers.

Even if he turns out to be decent

There were better options by far

aww man, i knew they were going to pick him. FASTEST PLAYER IN THE DRAFT! I bet Al Davis is really good at Madden. Speed kills in that game!!!

Raiders almost chose Bruce Campbell w/ their first pick this past draft because he was the workout warrior at the combine. But they decided to wait, and were able to pick him up in the 4th! They coulda had DHB in the 4th as well!

by dsham001 on Mar 11, 2011 9:04 AM PST up reply actions

I think DHB would've gone in the 2nd.

He had the highest upside of almost all the receivers that year, but of course was just extremely raw. Dude has to be taught how to catch properly, which says something…

I’m hoping Uncle Al goes and picks Robert Sands from WVU. He’s like a 6’5’’ inch FS that’s supposedly can run a 4.4-4.5. He’s got all the height/weight/speed that Al falls madly in love for.
