a recipe for becoming a real contender

Problem one - this a four player team. curry, lee, wright and monta. Everyone else is at best 3rd off the bench on a good team, everyone of them is expendable. The only player of those four without serious flaws is d wright. He is not a star, but a very solid all-around player. The other three are below average defenders and without an nba center those flaws are exposed.

Problem two-let's be clear, the Warriors do not have an nba-caliber center, as a matter of fact, name a team who starts a worse center than Biedrins/Udoh.

Problem three, the biggest problem, is lack of a powerhouse GM and coach.. The franchise is a joke and nobody takes them seriously. I dont care how good Rowell is at anything, he reeks of the mistakes of the past and needs to go, and although Smart is a nice guy and maybe could be good somewhere, he also reeks of the past. Gotta go too. Before Gackob and Luber do ANYTHING, they must pay, or even overpay, for a top GM -that person could lead to all of the other things.

To be a serious contender on the court without losing any of the four guys above, this GM will need a real coach, a real center and two more guys. All of those new guys must be at least average defenders, at least one of the three needs to be an all star. After the center, a number of combinations would work for the other two guys. I'd like to see a veteran combo guard who can score play some point (giving Monta much deserved rest) and a beastly rebounder.

Starting lineup- new center, lee, monta, curry and wright. 6th man combo guard. next guy off bench- seriously tough rebounder.

That is a lot, but what is needed to compete in the west. And this team is light years away from that point.
