During the Sacramento game Monta Ellis was not himself. We did not need to look at an injury report to see that their was a problem with Ellis. He was playing at an obviously slow pace and was not able to use the explosiveness he usually posses. Monta played a season low 25 minutes and had only seven points, the lowest of all starters. To go along with his not-so-pleasant night, Ellis finished with two turnovers. We were later informed that Monta had a leg issue which was causing his inability to produce when his team needed him to. However, from my point of view Monta should of never suited up for this game tonight. I did not watch the every minute of the game, but from what i did witness Monta was tired, fatigued and in pain from the start. To make this worse Ellis had a monstrous collision with nearly 300 pounder Demarcus Cousins. In the fourth, after sitting on the bench for a rather large chunk of time Monta checked back into the game. With the Warriors losing by three Monta made a move toward the hoop where he was met by Cousins who was trying to take a charge. Monta soared to the hoop, collided with Demarcus and landed on the hardwood (It was called a blocking foul). Here's were it gets nasty. Ellis came flying down (the fall was probably the fastest thing Monta did this game..l) He came down full speed hitting the ground head first. Monta was down for a good minute before we saw any movement at all. Ellis was too out of to even be grimacing in pain. He seemed EXTREMELY light headed , the feeling you get when a concussion takes place. Monta was helped of the floor and wasn't able to return; not even to shoot his free throws. From that point on the game went cold ; Marcus Thornton took over to lead his Anaheim Kings to a 1 point victory
Expect Monta not to play tomorrow against Denver..Hopefully he plays Wednesday though, I'm going to that game!
